HANCOCK: Superman III 1/2? - Jul 02, 2008 - 05:48am
I saw it last night. It literally went from a breezy action comedy to a melodramatic, sappy version of "My Super Ex-Girlfriend." Is it worth seeing? Sure, it is a fun movie to watch, and you're guaranteed a few good laughs during the first 45 minutes. I mean, Will Smith shines in even his worst roles.
But is it worth remembering? Not in the slightest. "Hancock" could have and SHOULD HAVE been much better with a concept as good as this.

Orion, a lot of folks aren't rich and they own blu-ray players. It's no different than what it was ten years ago when DVD players were $300+ in stores, and many weren't even progressive-scan back then.
Ever since seeing my first blu-ray movie last fall, I have pretty much vowed to never purchase a regular DVD again.... and my library was tipping over 300.
Like the previous posters, when we have hi-definition setups why bother supporting an old format? These sets are useless to us, and we'd rather not own them at all until they release them on blu-ray. You weren't one of those fellas who said the same thing about your VHS tapes back in the 90s, were you?
Just because you can't afford it (or too cheap to even shell out the cash), it's not a good enough reason to knock it.
Toshiba to Drop HD DVD? - Feb 15, 2008 - 11:59am
Knight, the likely reason why you DON'T see anything like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, or Aliens on blu-ray is because the format hasn't completely taken over yet. Not to mention the fact that filmmakers like Spielberg and Lucas are fed up with this silly format war and are simply waiting for one to inevitably die before putting any effort in.
Think about it. Remember laserdisc? The format that tanked so badly it took the two YEARS after DVD to settle before finally releasing their disc boxsets? History is likely to repeat itself here.
