DreamWorks has preemptively purchased Lars Jacobson's C.O.D, says The Hollywood Reporter. The new action-thriller spec was set up by Barry Josephson of Josephson Entertainment and Neal Flaherty of Royal Prospect. Josephson produced Enchanted and is currently in production on They Came From Upstairs for Fox. Josephson Entertainment VP Danica Radovanov will executive produce.

Plot Concept: The story centers on a New York City bike messenger who becomes a puppet in an assassin's deadly game, forced to deliver bombs to save his family's life. A female FBI agent with a vendetta against the villain must work outside the system to catch the messenger and solve the case before it takes on global implications.

Wow... another original story. Yet, still no comments.

Why is it that for every typical, remake, rehash, duplicate story, tons of people complain, yet for an original, there are no comments? Interesting...

I can only speak for myself, but I took the last few days off for the NCAA Tournament. I already lost one of my Final Fours (yeah, thanks Georgetown), but I'm still having a great time.

Anyways, I'm not all that excited about this plot. Why would an assassin use a bike messenger to deliver bombs? Wouldn't UPS or FedEx be more efficient? Plus, how could a bike messenger support a family in NYC? I would have to wait until more details are released before I'm all that interested.

There was a somewhat similar plot being used for another movie in development that I had read a while back on here that sounded a whole lot more interesting. A regular guy is forced to kill three different people in three different cities within a 24-hour span in order to save his family's life from a killer. That's a plot that engages my interest.

You're right, Godsonfilm. People usually want to vent their anger when a re-make is being produced, not praising something original. I'm often guilty as charged.
This does sound like a good idea to me. This is obviously only a few word synopsis of the plot, but it sounds like a great start.

I commented on the other original story article today (about Long Run). This doesn't seem quite as interesting or original. Sounds very similar to many other movies - innocent bystander is blackmailed/forced into doing crime by bad guys, has to stop them before his family dies. Isn't that the basic plot of Nick of Time with Johnny Depp? Just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are many more I could think of given 3-4 minutes to think.

yeah fft5305 don't forget hostage with bruce willis. although this is a new twist on the blackmail it's like quicksilver meets the unabomber.
