There have been reports of Imagi and Warner Bros. getting together to make a TMNT sequel after the 2007 CGI film wound up as a success. While the first reports seem to indicate that the sequel would be CGI, co-creator Kevin Eastman is now confirming rumors to Heavy Metal that a live-action TMNT is on the horizon.

Yes, it is true. Although the CGI film did well enough to warrent a sequel, there has been much talk between Imagi and Warners to do a better "re-invention" (newest Hollywood buzzword) of the TMNT's, in a live action film--like what was done with Batman. Back to basics, back to the origin and the intro of the Shredder, etc...there have been talks, trips to Northampton to talk to Mr Laird, and discussions with the original "first" TMNT film director Steve Barron to come back and do it right--but no official word yet...will keep you posted. Best, Kevin

Batman owns everything ever created. Everyone want to be like Bats, even the turtles. I wanted a new CG flick with Shredder but I'll take the live action one. They gotta make the turtles fight kicks ass though, move really fast, ninja style. Two things for this to be a success. 1. Bring back Corey to do the voice 2. Get Vanilla Ice to do a song & cameo in the movie. Box office gold I tell ya!

Speechless... I think it can only work if the vulture people join Vanilla Ice for a dance routine!

Oh hell yeah. Bring it on, a live action movie like the original TMNT comic would be great. The turtle's would acually "use" there weapons in this film. And im cool with bring'n back the original director. The first movie is relitivlly dark for what was suposed to be a "kids" movie.

TMNT for life.

ok when they say "we'll do it right" what part of the first live action TMNT was wrong?

perhaps the part about the sequels having nothing to do with anything related to the books? No Fugitoid, no Triceritons...ever? Come ON.

the series got very sci/fi as it progressed into outer space (and beyond) so i say stop milking it and give the fans what they want.

also i would love to see a CGI Yusagi Yojimbo movie...just once. Stan Saki is the Master!

They should have made a live action one instead of the last one.

Hells yes. I love the first and third movie. The second is ok, but I remember back in the day reading that the second one they didn't use their weapons because too many parents complained that the first one was to violent. Fuck them. Make it kick ass. Like some serious bad ass Kill Bill fights. And if you bring back Feldman as Donnie, you have to bring back Robbie Wrist (cousin Oliver from the Brady Bunch) as Mikey.

Eastman is just like Farlaine with SPAWN, he only created one thing in his life and so he keeps trying to ride it until the wheels fall off.
