Well, as long as it is on par with the Dawn of the Dead remake, I am on board with this.....Sahara was a pretty good movie, for being Brek's first movie, so I would like to see what else he can do.....I mean, I think Dawn was Zack Snyders first movie.

Why are they remaking a good movie like "The Crazies" when they could remake and improve a crap movie like "Sahara"?

the Crazies is a movie that is, unfortunatly, dated although the elements are still relevent in todays culture... perhaps even more relevent after 9/11 than they were back when it was released originally.
hopefully it wont be a straight knock-off of the original and they'll update it, it was a fairly decent movie but one that could always be kicked up a notch... especially with the paranoia culture we live in post 9/11 and the whole Anthrax scares and "Nerve Gas" and Agent Orange and smallpox viruses and God only know what else that we have stored "somewhere" ...out there, in a secret Gov. test facility.... the remake could most definitly could improve on the original thats for sure....

Agreed, Mckracken. I always like The Crazies but also felt that it was one of Romero's weakest films. I always liked the story but like you just said, was just dated for its time. I am curious to see how they do this and am hoping they do it well.

This is, in a rare case, where I liked and own the original, but would not mind seeing a remake.
