On one side: producers, directors and other Hollywood players looking for the next big thing.
On the other side are the comic book artists and writers creating the next big thing.
In between is...The Comics2Film Elevator.
Five simple questions. Five quick answers. Just enough to start the ball rolling as you ride from ground to roof.
Today's guest in The Elevator is comics writer Shannon Eric Denton, creator of 'Graveslinger'
ELEVATOR (E): Describe 'Graveslinger' in two sentences or less.
SED: 'Graveslinger' is a horror/Western comic about prison undertaker Frank Timmons, who accidentally releases 117 executed murderers from Hell. When their initial murder spree claims the life of Dorothy, his beloved, he has to track them down and kill them again in order to spare her soul from Hell.
E: If you were to compare 'Graveslinger' to a movie or TV show what would it be?
SED: 'Graveslinger' is like 'Unforgiven' meets '28 Days Later'
E :Why do you think 'Graveslinger' would translate to film/TV/animation?
SED: 'Graveslinger' works in either TV or film. The sheer number of undead killers Frank has to re-kill makes it ideal for episodic entertainment, but it also works as a one-off tale of a desperate man's search for redemption. Either way it's loaded with horror, humor, action and atmosphere.
E: How can folks find your comic?
SED: 'Graveslinger' can be found at your local comics shop. If they don't know the Diamond ordering codes here they are:
Issue 1: AUG07 1984;
Issue 2: SEP07 1997;
Issue 3: OCT07 2010;
Issue 4: NOV07 2042.
E: How can folks learn more about you and your work?
SED: You can learn a lot more about 'Graveslinger' on our MySpace page.
