What They Say
The adventures of Haruhiko, Yuka and Eukanaria continue! Will the truth behind Yuka and Fulcanelli's relationship finally be revealed? Will Haruhiko finally give up the fight and give his body over to Fulcanelli's soul?

The Review
When the tables turn on you, are you willing to go against your beliefs?

Haruhiko's martial training sessions with Yamato are really starting to pay off. He wants to be a better fighter in the hopes of being able to protect Yuka. However, even Eukanaria notices how chiseled Haruhiko is becoming. If he keeps it up, can he maybe convince Eukanaria to love him instead of Fulcanelli? I actually doubt it. This pretty much sucks, since Eukanaria is becoming bolder in her advances, sleeping in Haruhiko's bed every night, changing clothes in front of him, etc.

The last few volumes of Enchanter have been a little slow compared to earlier volumes. However, the story introduces some tough situations and even tougher decisions. While Haruhiko trains with Yamato, Mercurio falls more and more in love with him. Haruhiko is always kind to her, even if he doesn't understand her true identity. Mercurio's personality is that of a demon, who has invaded the true Mercurio the Enchanters body. The Demon Mercurio is sweet and kind, but the Enchanter Mercurio seems to be rather bitchy. The only thing keeping Demon Mercurio in control of the body is a magical device that is breaking down. Eventually, Enchanter Mercurio will regain her body when Demon Mercurio's soul loses control and disappears forever.

Witnessing the two Mercurio's internal battle for control is almost too much for Haruhiko. He wants to do anything he can to protect and help the sweet Demon Mercurio stay in control. This becomes even more important when Enchanter Mercurio gains control and begins kicking Haruhiko's ass. Then she challenges Haruhiko to deny his own desire to keep his body from becoming a vessel for Fulcanelli. Enchanter Mercurio and Haruhiko are both in very similar situations. I find myself unable to choose demon Mercurio's side. It would be to hypocritical to cheer for Haruhiko and then deny Enchanter Mercurio control of her own body. What will Haruhiko ultimately decide? It may not even be an issue because I doubt he could defeat Enchanter Mercurio in a fight. To make matters worse, Eukanaria discovers Haruhiko has broken the demonstone holding Fulcanelli's soul. Haruhiko might not have to worry about Enchanter Mercurio, because Eukanaria might just destroy both of them in her rage.
