Eric Roberts joins "The Dark Knight"

According to DailyNews, Eric Roberts has signed on to play a mafia kingpin in the upcoming Batman sequel, The Dark Knight.

"I don't stop working. I'm a workaholic," said Roberts. "I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm too overexposed to ever be a superstar, so I'm happy to be a working actor every day."

The film is the sequel to 2005's Batman Begins, and sees the Caped Crusader protecting Gotham City from his arch-nemesis, The Joker.

Production will get underway this June for a July 18, 2008 release.

Good casting. He plays a decent bad guy.
Eric Roberts seems to be getting a lot comic book type of work these days. First Heroes now The Dark Knight. At this point he`s working more than his sister.

Yeah, he is so getting killed by Joker.

This movie has such a great cast and it just keeps getting better with every announcement. I like that Nolan doesn't want to only make a good comic book movie, but wants to make a movie that will be enjoyed by Batman/comic book movie fans and regular theatergoes alike.
