Hammer, Spitfire Grab New VAMPIRE Flick - May 05, 2008 - 03:46pm
Is it possible to produce an amazing classic horror film that's still PG-13? I personally think there's a market that might respond favorably to movies that rely on atmosphere and scares than gore. Granted, Hammer's later efforts morphed into gorefests and lesbian vampires and satanic orgies and whatnot, but their early stuff--especially films like "Horror of Dracula--are still riveting today.

Eckhart Talks About TWO-FACE - May 05, 2008 - 03:32pm
I just have to say this...I knew Aaron in college and can I say it totally cheeses me in an immature, jealous sort of irrational way that he's in a Batman movie? It's strange to see someone I knew, albeit briefly, in a big movie like this--it pops the bubble a bit. Thanks. Had to get that out. That being said, this new trailer sold me. I'm pumped.

LOST: The Economist - Feb 17, 2008 - 02:18pm
If I could sum up the island, it would be magnetism - it draws and repels all at once. It involves the "smoke" monster and time distortions, the countdown clock, the ability to draw travelers across the ages to its shores. Clearly the idea of the place also being one foot in the world beyond (perhaps due to its unique properties) means that the veil between life and death is very thin. People see dead people. People who are most sensitive to it (like Hurley and ben) can see people like Jacob. Frankly, I think Jacob is dead. Why else have a guy who is a "budget ghostbuster" as one of the four to investigate the island? I am very curious to see how they tie up all the loose ends through the end of the series run. It's been a fun season so far...not as good as the first season (still the best) but more riveting than the last one.
