It looks like Steven Spielberg has heard the call of fans. This week, he announced he'll be releasing both the original cut of E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL and the 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION, which is being released Friday in theaters with restored scenes and new special effects
The film will hit DVD later this year in one mega-package. Universal Home Video has also announced new documentaries and features for the DVD release, differentiating it from the laserdisc release from a few years ago.
