What They Say
Renton and Eureka encounter the female pilot Anemone, who is the pilot of the Federation LFO and is Eureka's opposite in every way. Her cute exterior can't hide the violent mood swings that make her behavior extremely unpredictable.

The Review
I do not watch much anime anymore. And as such I have realized that I am not consuming what I would consider normal amounts of sci-fi adventure that is a staple of anime. So when I read Eureka Seven I was treated to a shonen title with some style and adventure, nicely filling a void in my manga library. Psalms of Planet continues to follow the direction that the anime laid for it, but does this by allowing a little more time in those defining moments in this series. Not only does this give more insight to this unique world readers are allowed more time to get intimate with the cast. Learn about their past and their feelings while the anime filler is quickly skimmed over. The emotional moments are allowed to have their full impact. The trippy moments are even more bizarre in black and white. This is a rare occassion where the manga, even when supplimental is more substantial than the anime it is based on.

Personally, everything from the packaging to the pacing feels superior to the anime. Bandai has done something right here, but it is a shame that we only get this so infrequently. What happened to the other version? Well, right now this short on-going series is going to be enough. I will desperately wait to see if Renton will ever be able to get over the strange Coralian trip he experienced. Will he be able to see himself conspire with the Gekko State now that he knows who they are and what they stand for. Even surfers have agendas and Eureka SeveN is making that very clear.
