Evangeline Lilly for Ant-Man?

In early talks

Ant-Man arrives July 17, 2015.

It appears that Marvel is in early talks with LOST and Hobbit star Evangeline Lilly for Edger Wright’s Ant-Man. The interesting thing is, who would she be playing? Would she the love interest? Could she be Hank Pym’s (Michael Douglass) daughter? He didn’t have a daughter in comics unless you count Jocasta? Perhaps Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish have taken some liberties with the Ant-Man lore?

Marvel had no comment on the casting.

Definitely a good pick if she is to be the Wasp.

I think alot of fans were hoping for a re-teaming of adorable Rashida Jones with Rudd but it looks like that is not to be.

I think Evangeline Lilly should be cast in every movie.

Maybe they'll change the story around and the Wasp will be the love interest of Scott Lang instead of Henry Pym.  Hence why she's so young.

She is Wasp and my money is on her being lang's woman instead of Pym's. That way they can avoid all of the "domestic violence" stuff that haunts the Pym relationship.

I hope they don't make Janet Van Dyne Hank Pym's daughter.

I do hope she plays Janet though.

I wouldn't mind the daughter angle, it would bridge the gap of how Lang gets in close to Pym.  I think axia is correct in why they are switching the Wasp to Lang's love interest instead of Pyms.  Again, I don't mind this creative alteration, as it doesn't effect the core of the characters.  Pym can still be a wife beater, we just don't need to see it played out on screen.

Hell, maybe thats why This wasp has a different last name, she took the last name of her mother, whom Pym drove away because he was abusive and too focused on his work. She's pissed at him and brings Lang home and he stills his work!

I'm betting that they're setting up Janet Van Dyne as Scott Lang's girlfriend, instead of Hank Pym's.  It's a liberty with the source material, but not a terrible one.  More importantly, it helps them dodge the uncomfortable bullet of Pym being a wife-beater.

If that's the case, I'm down with Lilly playing Van Dyne/Wasp!!

She can't be the love interest. She only loves Jack and Sawyer.

I'm down with this casting.  Just hoping for a good movie that could fit right into an Avengers move storyline.  This casting and premise is starting to grow on me.  I think Marvel made their stinker with Iron Man 3 and is getting back it's game.  Here's hoping anyways....

If she is to play the Wasp I'd be more willing to bet she'll be Michael Douglas's partner/love interest in flashback sequences.  But we shall see when more details emerge.
