i don't know. someone in the audience had asked specifically about the Bluray version but nothing was said about the DVD.

Yeah, don't know why he would want the movies to be more confusing than the TV series.  Especially when I thought I read somewhere that on the Japanese side of things, one of their focuses with the retelling was to make the series more accessible.

All that said, one of the things the makes the TV series one of my all time favorites is how dense and open to interpretation it is.  Completely removing the confusing aspects from it may rob Evangelion of what makes it great.  (Although with Anno in charge I can't imagine they're too easy to follow.)
