The Event: And Then There Were More/Inostranka

Back with a bang.

So after the painful ending to The Cape, The Event returns with a two-hour bang! This show got a bad reputation when it started because the first few episodes were weak. After those episodes a shot of adrenaline boosted the series and it hasn’t worn off yet. In these two hours there were tons of plot reveals and a few twists, one of which was expected but others were very well executed. The first hour focused on Leila finding her little sister while the second followed Thomas as his master plan started to come together. The one thing that’s a bit of a failure on the show is that the creators build the President up as someone who matters but he’s almost completely ineffectual. Is this a little social commentary or weaker writing? That’s a small quibble for a two hour return that blew by at breakneck speed. This is good stuff. If you haven’t been watching it’s time for you to catch up.

This review barely qualifies as a review.

The whole TV Department on this site has gone basically non-existant.

The episode "reviews" are mostly only 1 to 3 paragraphs long. For the most part they consist of "In this show that'll probably be cancelled...stuff happened. Some worked. Some didn't."

If you look at the TV News on the right, I call only 5 of the 11 links actually "news."  Genre pilots have been casting for weeks.  Wonder Woman, Exit Strategy, Hallelujah,  Precint 17, Poe, Grimm,  a drama knock-off of the Charmings with Jennifer Morrison and a zombie show with Lucy Griffiths all fit the profile...
