Carrie (2013): Trailer #1

Full Trailer Arrives

By Robert T. Trate     April 05, 2013
Source: ENTV

Here is the full trailer for the remake of Carrie (2013). Perhaps “remake” is the wrong phrase. Perhaps “the full adaptation of King’s novel” would be better. If that is true, we will discover it in October. This trailer really gives away the whole film. Hopefully, there are a few surprises that haven’t been revealed.

The Plot: A sheltered high school girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) unleashes her newly developed telekinetic powers after she is pushed too far by her peers.

The film is directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) with  a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

The film stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore and Judy Greer.

Carrie now arrives in theaters October 18, 2013.

Hoping for the best on this.  I really like Chloe Moretz but I just don't see her as the teenage outcast, unpopular girl.

I was thinking the same thing. They should have cast a plain jane type than a cutie like her.

It's remake so it's crap....but man does it look good.

this looks pretty good. I caught the trailer on the big screen last night in front of Evil Dead.

I think they did a good job making her look like an unpopular girl. I remember in high school there were plenty of unpopular girls who were good looking, they just didn't know how to clean up well, like do their hair or dress themselves. And that's what they're doing here for Chloe. I say they did a good job.

Interesting to see how much the trailer gives away, but maybe that's how they've structured the film- building up the tension to what the audience knows will be an explosive final act.  This looks really well made.  I've read a lot of King but never picked up Carrie and never saw the Depalma version so I'm quite interested in seeing this.

Second verse same as the first.  Let's see, the cast is all very pretty.  Even Carrie is a little hottie.  Of all the novels by King (and aren't there hundreds by now?) Carrie isn't even on my radar.  Do you think this got the greenlight do to the success of Twilight?  I don't recall any of the kids in my highschool looking like they were all models for a teen magazine.

This remake is going to be one of the exceptions to the rule. Normally a remake is the last thing I want to see from hollywierd. but based only on this one trailer it looks good. Chloe is a great choice. Very talented young woman.

Definitely looks better than the last remake and Rage:Carrie 2.

This looks exceptional....I may have to drop some coin to see it...

I'm sure this film will be fine...but personally, I've seen Carrie, I know what it's about and how it ends and I won't pay to see it again.   A year from now, if I have nothing better to do, I may be tempted to watch this version on TV to see how it compares to the original.
