Evil Dead 2 is definitely in my tope ten.
I don't know about this film. Was I the only one thinking "Cabin in the Woods" while I was watching the trailer?
Sigh, I guess we will never get to see Ash again weilding his boomstick.

Wow, now that looks like a proper horror, this thing looks like it's gonna make you squirm for the entire film! Having the original crew helping behind the scenes really makes me want to see this more than your average reboot/remake/reimagining, which of course it is despite whatever taglines they use.
Holy crap. At first I thought this would suck huge. But this looks like it will kick ass instead. They took all the humor out of the original movies and made them only horror. This movie looks all kinds of messed up and that is great. I hope it delivers.
Oh, and Ash kicks ass every week down there in Miami. He just got a new job and a new name but Ash is still in there. :D
I think...I think...(berrrpp)....'scuz me , gotta throw up...
I suppose its an approrpriate remake of the film. It is portraying the events from the original in a more modern fashion very well. I can definitely see this attracting an audience and making money. But it doesn't look like its for me. I'm not into torture porn and this is what it feels like now.
The original was great because it was totally original in idea and execution by young filmmakers who had nothing to lose and went for broke. They created a gamechanger for the horror genre that countless others have fed off of ever since. InnerSanctum, that is why it looks like Cabin. The ideas from the original ED have become so pervasive that Cabin could now play off those now familar themes.
I'll eventually see this on video or something but it's not really in my tea cup. I'd rather have another gamechanger.
Atleast they made it a horror film. I was worried for quite some time that they would put Seth Rogen in it. Or worse.... Kristen Stewert and Rober Pattinson.
Kinda looks like what Raimi originally intended. Not the chessy horror/comedy that the original turned out to be. At first I really hated the idea of an Evil Dead remake, but this looks pretty sweet. Personally, I can separate this from the original because it looks like it's completely different, other than the plot.
Of course I loved the original Evil Dead though. It's in my top 25!
On a side note: I'm getting ready to pop in The Monster Squad! I recently bought the 20th anniversary Blu-Ray.
I think it's looking pretty good, and the original is one of my top 3 horror movies. I like how they aren't using CG for any of the effects. I think I will be checking this out.
