Sleestaks Revealed for LOST Remake - Apr 29, 2008 - 04:08pm
I love the look of the sleestak. I see there are also more than 3 of them. I just don't like the idea of this being a comedy. I don't have a problem with Ferrell, I just want a serious movie. For saturday morning this show was great. The writing was way above anything at the time. Plus it was a Krofft brothers show. They were a big part of my sugar filled saturday mornings. Hard to think that was over 30 years ago. I'll see this, but I'm not looking forward to it.
Potterverse Threatened - Apr 27, 2008 - 05:51pm
I don't know what she's whining about. Didn't she steal Harry potter from and old DC comics character called Tim Hunter? I think the character was even created by Neil Gaiman.
Michael Stahl-David Responds to CLOVERFIELD 2 - Apr 20, 2008 - 06:26pm
I love Bryan's idea, and I too liked this movie. It was a novel concept, and also not just a bad remake of something else.
Secret Invasion: Implications and Musings - Apr 10, 2008 - 05:44am
Well I went and bought the first issue. But I will say I'm confused. Some of the versions in the skrull ship are '70's versions: Ms Marvel and Wolverine. Mockingbird is from the '80's, and I've never seen that version of the White Queen. Anyway we shall see.
Secret Invasion: Implications and Musings - Apr 09, 2008 - 06:21am
Great idea, unfortunately Luke Cage and Jewel weren't in Secret Wars. Though something like that could be easily explained. If this is indeed a major retcon, I'll be one of the first back reading Marvel. I just can't see Quesada having any where near the brains to have okayed something that cool.
Charlton Heston Passes Away at 84 - Apr 06, 2008 - 06:27pm
Heston was the king of sci-fi in the late '60's and '70's, and he will be missed. I consider Planet of the Apes as my generations Star Wars.
LOST: Ji Yeon - Mar 16, 2008 - 06:47pm
I'll admit it too. I was tricked. Mainly, I think because I so wanted Jin to be with Sun for the birth. I do not believe him to be dead though. I think he's still on the island, and we'll see him when the Oceanic Six return to the island. I also think its Micheal in the casket. So maybe Micheal is the sixth?
LOST: The Constant - Mar 03, 2008 - 05:03am
Another great episode. I agree with Evilmonkey, I want to know what is in the journal. With this show you can be sure this was not a throw-away reference.
Rise Up and Hear the Bells: The Return of Captain America - Jan 30, 2008 - 06:01am
So Brubaker brought back Bucky to have Cap killed and replace him. Is there anyone who didn't see this one coming? Sorry Kurt, I know I'm not in my right mind, but I don't care how well written the story is. It all part of the steaming pile that Marvel has been handing us for several years. Between Avengers Disassembled, House of M, One More Day, a Thor clone, the return of Captain Marvel, and now skrulls have replaced several major characters. The list of crap could go on and on. There are a few gems that come through. World War Hulk was great, and oddly enough I still look forward to every issue of Ultimate Spiderman.
Update: Ledger's Autopsy Is Inconclusive - Jan 23, 2008 - 06:00am
This is sad news. I too hope that it was just a horrible accident, and not suicide. I wish his family and fans well.
Danny McBride Gets LOST in Remake - Jan 16, 2008 - 08:41pm
I like Will Ferrell, but this has turd written all over it. I thought the Kroffts wanted to redo LotL with the budget they never had in the '70s?
2007: The Year in Review, Part Two - Jan 05, 2008 - 03:19pm
As to OMD. I can't put into words what a steaming pile of shite this is. Did Quesada even remotely think of the possition that this puts other writers and the Marvel Universe as a whole into? Did he even care? Do you REALLY expect us loyal fans(over 30 years for myself) to believe that Peter would be so stupid as to make a deal with the devil? Let alone one concerning his elderly aunt, over his wife's happyness. What's to keep Peter from going after Mary Jane again? Let alone what this means to the rest of the Marvel Universe. I'm lost on this one. Did Peter unmask to the public, and people have just forgotten? What a momment that will be when you check your tivo. Or did it not happen at all? Does any one know who he really is? Wolverine, Daredevil, or the Green Goblin come to mind. Or is this a reboot back to the '80's? Either way I'm done. I absolutley hate that Marvel killed off Captain America, and brought back Bucky and Captain Marvel, but at least they were well written stories. This story makes the clone saga look well done.
WALLACE AND GROMIT: THREE AMAZING ADVENTURES - Jan 02, 2008 - 05:23am
I absolutely love Wallace and Gromit, but how many times is this going to be re-released? There are almost as many releases of this as 'The Evil Dead'.
International Alternatives to Repeat TV - Dec 28, 2007 - 05:55am
Agreed, Spaced is one of the best shows I've ever seen. Extras too, the episode with Patrick Stewert is hilarious. Some other great Brit-coms that are available here are The Royle Family, Black Books, Keeping Up Appearances, and going back a few years, Fawlty Towers(John Cleese at his Absolute best). .
Wish List - Dec 27, 2007 - 05:40am
You have to laugh at the extremes we all go to to buy back our childhood.
Wish List - Dec 25, 2007 - 07:17pm
Two Guys and a Girl may not be the best show, but the Scene from season 1(? it may well be the self-same halloween episode) where David Ogden Stiers thinks he's Obi-Wan and uses his 'Jedi' powers on the cops is still one of funniest things I've ever seen. Back to the wish list ,though. We could still use more Sid and Marty Krofft shows. Just remember before you '80's kids had your 1/2 hour TV comercials we had our weird '60's/'70's pychotic/drug induced saturday morning shows. Coupled with the fact that we watched them wired on super-sugarfied breakfast cereals, I'm surprised we survived until the '80's.
Wish List - Dec 25, 2007 - 06:29am
Like it or not Damnation Alley needs to be out on DVD. Giant cockroaches, George Peppard, and Jan Micheal Vincent in a monster urban assault vehicle. What more could you want.
TOS 'Guardian' Writer Ellison Denies STAR TREK Rumor - Dec 14, 2007 - 06:29pm
Monkeyfoot, Demon with a Glass Hand, was in part the basis for Terminator. I know it's hard to believe that Ellison would sue someone, thinking they stole his idea. ;-)
Billie Piper Returns to DR. WHO - Nov 28, 2007 - 02:10pm
Donna is indeed the bride from the christmas ep. If you want to see the episodes bfore they air here get a non-regional player and order them off of amazon.co.uk.
HEROES: Cautionary Tales - Nov 25, 2007 - 07:15am
Agreed, who'd have thought that little Magneto wanna-be West could be interesting? I'm begining to actually kind of like the kid. And what's really going on with Bob? Is he really evil?
Greenwood Talks CAPTAIN PIKE Role - Nov 15, 2007 - 07:38am
First off, I can't wait to see Greenwood as Pike. He is a great actor. Secondly, as long as someone has brought up Ellison; here's my two cents. He needs to make up his mind. While he did write the original screenplay for 'City on the Edge of Forever' and loves to take ALL the credit for it being perhaps the best episode of TOS. He is also, however, forever bitching about how his screenplay was so heavily rewritten that it is not even his own work anymore.
First Images of Quinto's SPOCK Online - Nov 13, 2007 - 06:51am
I was Very much against this project when it looked like it was going to be Star Trek 90210. But the more I see, the more I like. I'll go see it if only for the fact that they are putting Captain Pike in it. Considering the poor quality of the photo, Quinto looks good. I also like what they're doing a with casting. I'm finally looking forward to this movie.
Rose McGowan Confirmed For BARBARELLA? - Oct 02, 2007 - 06:32am
I still think they should go with Drew. She adds that little quirkiness that this movie needs.
Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 12:55pm
The original death of Jean Grey in the X-Men was one of the greatest stories Marvel ever put out, and I feel it was cheapened by her return. As is also the recent return of Captain Marvel.
Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 12:44pm
Finally someone else agrees that Bucky is dead. Sorry, I don't care how good the story is, but Bucky, Uncle Ben, and Barry Allen are dead and should remain so.
Continuity Crisis - Sep 20, 2007 - 06:32am
I don't have a problem with the occasional cross-over. It's when it becomes the norm. It became DC's yearly event and the stories became forced. I too agree that Marvel's Ultimate/M2/Marvel Adventures solve many continuity problems and give writers the chance to write stories that they couldn't in norman continuity.
Uhura Cast & Plot for Abrams' STAR TREK? - Aug 31, 2007 - 07:00am
If this is true at least this is not a complete reboot. It also moves away from what originally looked like Star Trek:90210.
The MIST a Hard R-Rating - Jul 28, 2007 - 06:36am
The Mist is such a great story. It does not need to be made into a gore-fest. The whole point in the original story was that you never really get to see whats going on.
Nelson Fights The INCREDIBLE HULK - Jul 26, 2007 - 06:52am
I'm so much more excited about this new version of the Hulk than the last. Everything seems to be falling into place much better. And yes seeing Rick Jones would be perfect.
Lording It - Jul 08, 2007 - 09:23pm
I like the bitchiness of Tate but not the fact that she's so thick. Maybe if they smarten her up a bit.
PETA Angered At SPEED RACER - Jul 03, 2007 - 06:40am
What do you expect from a group of hypocrites that fund terrorists. It is amazing the amount of people that still believe any thing PETA has to say. I agree with jppintar; they actually make me want to go out and buy a fur coat.
I AM LEGEND Poster - Jun 08, 2007 - 06:43am
I cannot wait for this movie. Smith can definely pull this off. Ponyboy, check out the Omega Man. It is not very close to the story, but it is great Charles Heston 70's Sci-Fi.
Smoking to Affect Movie Ratings - May 12, 2007 - 06:59am
When did Penn and Teller retract their BS episode on 2nd-hand smoking? I loved that episode, and I don't consider myself a smoker. Anyway this is so typical of our great PC society. If this moved to TV, 'The Royle Family' would be rated XXX.
One Comicscape About Many Things - Apr 26, 2007 - 06:41am
SO if Galactus ends up being a giant cloud, does that mean that Kirk killed Galactus in Star Trek: TOS? Anyway, corny or not, I still want to see Galactus in all his purpley Kirbyness.
Dunst talking about "Spider-Man 4" again - Apr 25, 2007 - 05:58am
I don't have a problem with Dunst talking, I just wish she would think first. She has some talent, but loses respectablity when she goes on these self-centered rants. I would prefer to see Raimi and Maguire attached to Spider-Man 4. However I could care less whether Dunst was in it or not.
Kate Beckinsale is "Barbarella"? - Apr 18, 2007 - 05:50am
Great choice. I'm usually against remakes, but this one could be a lot of fun.
David Goyer writes "Super Max" - Apr 09, 2007 - 06:27am
Good concept. I think this could actually work. Someone like Green Arrow doesn't really need an origin movie.
Throwing Gas on the Flames: Your Letters - Apr 04, 2007 - 07:02am
As Ben said the Ultimate clone saga did indeed kick ass, and if Bendis wrote everything as well as he writes USP I'd stil be reading the Avengers.
Three titles sell out at Marvel - Mar 30, 2007 - 06:41am
Not from my wallet. I know I'll be back at some point, but I'm done with the main Marvel universe for now.
Columbia options "The Green Hornet" - Mar 22, 2007 - 03:57am
The Green Hornet wasn't envisioned as a comicbook superhero. He started off as one of the many radio crime fighters in the mid '30's. Created by George Trendle, who also created the Lone Ranger, his name was Britt Reid, and he owned the Daily Sentinal newspaper. Along with his valet; Kato, they fought the criminal underworld by posing as mobsters. Admitedly radio was a much better format for these characters. However I will still go see the movie. Check out OTRCAT.com for MP3 files of some of the episodes.
Columbia options "The Green Hornet" - Mar 21, 2007 - 06:46am
K.J. The Green Hornet predates Batman by several years. Batman was a bit of a Green Hornet rip-off. Anyway I hope they do a good job. If they did a period piece they could even through in a cameo of his great uncle: the Lone Ranger.
Emma Watson done with "Harry Potter"? - Mar 19, 2007 - 06:31am
The BBC says Emma denies the rumours. She claims that she wants to do the last two movies.
Comicscape Double Feature: Captain America and 300 - Mar 15, 2007 - 07:33am
Good one Lister. I'm so fed up with Marvel these days. I don't really know when it started. Probably around the time that good writers like Mark Waid started wrting crappy story arcs like his run on the Fantastic Four. Add in stunts like the Sentry. A crappy Superman rip-off that gets retconned into the Marvel universe?! Then Bendis, another brilliant writer, ruins the Avengers. His Ultimate Spider-man is one of the few comics I look forward to every month, but I've quit reading the Avengers after 30 years. Then House of M: NO MORE MUTANTS, except the really popular ones?! And Brubaker, I know its a great read, but Bucky is dead. He has been for 40 years, get over it. I will say I've enjoyed Civil War. It set up a great moral dillema. Then the end of it came and sucked. Cap has never given up when he thought he was right. Add in Marvel's unnecessary return of Captain Marvel, and killing? of Captain America, and I'm pretty well done with the main Marvel Universe.
WB plans "Justice League" - Feb 24, 2007 - 06:57am
I'm with madmanic999 on this one. Marvel has shown that a group movie can do well. We've already had the origin stories for Batman and Superman, so very little background needs to be given for them. Which gives more story time. A good solid showing could also build some interest in some new solo projects for the likes of Green Lantern, the Flash and Wonder Woman. I wish them luck.
"Resident Evil: Extinction" Teaser Online - Feb 21, 2007 - 06:10am
I Admit I realy love these movies. Zombies, evil corporations, and hot girls! You don't need much else.
"Graphic Classics: H.P. Lovecraft" - Feb 14, 2007 - 07:13am
Kurt is right in one regard, though. Lovecraft's style takes some getting used to. When I've discussed his stories over the years, the biggest complaint I've heard is Lovecraft's stories are just too difficlut to get into. To some readers the story isn't worth the effort. I've disagree with them, but understand what they're saying.
William Shatner talks "Star Trek XI" - Jan 11, 2007 - 04:24pm
I'm still VERY skeptical about this movie, but I'm also willing to give it a chance because of Abrams.
The Obligatory Year In Review Column - Dec 28, 2006 - 06:16am
Kurt, I've got to agree with nearly everything you said this week. Great work. I know you mean to, but seriously, pick up Fables. If nothing else pick up #56, its more or less a stand alone christmas story.
McDowell Set as Loomis - Dec 27, 2006 - 12:16pm
Normally I hate remakes. but I'm still willing to give this a chance considering all of the talent surrounding it.
"Wolverine: #49" - Dec 27, 2006 - 12:04pm
Yet another idiot rears thier head. Did any one say they hated the bible? It actually has some cool stories in it. As I said earlier. just because I don't believe in something doesn't mean I hate it. Pay more attention before you spout off.
"Wolverine: #49" - Dec 24, 2006 - 08:26am
Gunner, Gunner, Gunner: you can't expect people to respect your ideas or religion when you go around disrespecting others. Respect is a two-way street. As for your comments on never having read so much lazy knowledge, hearsay and veg(?) talk. 1. Are you saying the inqusition or the holocaust didn't occur? Or that they weren't commited by those claiming to be 'christians'? What about all the murders commited by the KKK over the years? They claim to be good christians too. Face facts Gunner, people do crappy things in the guise of religion. Denying it doesn't undo it. 2. Are you saying the bible doesn't contradict itself? The bible contradicts itself in the first chapters of genesis, among other places. In the first account of creation God creates birds and fish on the 5th day. He then creates the other animals, and finally man on the 6th day. The very next chapter claims God created man first and finding him to be lonely, creates the animal as company. How can you take that out of context? Either God created man first or animals, which is it? It seems that every time someone uses the bible against itself they're "taking it out of context". And just what is veg talk? Anyway, have a Merry Chrismas.
"Mystery Science Theater: Vol. 7" - Dec 23, 2006 - 07:30am
I miss this show. I loved the shorts more than the movies most of the time. I remember watching those hygene, manners, dating, etc. reels in school some 30 years ago. At least on MST3K they were enjoyable. I can't wait for vol. 11.
"Wolverine: #49" - Dec 22, 2006 - 08:19pm
And now to sum up: 1. This issue sucked. 2. Gunner has issues. FYI Gunner: As an athiest, I don't hate God anymore than I hate the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, or Santa. To me they are all just fictional characters. Simple as that. Maybe you need to practice what you preach, mate. Anyway, I can't wait for the next story arc. Let's hope it lives up to the hype.
Politics in Comics or The Follies of Didacticism - Nov 29, 2006 - 10:47am
noblenonsense, you are not alone. I too miss 616's Vision. They have sort of brought him back in the Young Avengers. The writing for him is inconsistent though. In Young Avengers he is written more as the token robot in the group, while in the Civil War tie ins, he's more like his old self. A trend I hope continues. Trends I don't want to see: more return of crappy storylines. Who actually asked for a return to onslaught? I can't believe that Marvel had readers begging for more of that crap. What next, a 50 + issue return to the Spider-clone saga. Or maybe more of the jerri-curled beyonder. Anyway, I am very sad to read about Cockrum. He helped give us an X-Men worth reading.
The First of the Last - Nov 24, 2006 - 06:59pm
I for one, am just happy to get these old Rankin/Bass movies on DVD. I put most of my DVD's in binders anyway, they take up much less room, something that could not be said for VHS. Between their claymation holiday specials, their animated fantasy work, and the Krofft brother's saturday mornings, what more could any child of the '60's want?
Marvel releases cover for "Civil War #6" - Nov 22, 2006 - 09:28am
bigsxc2000, check out the Young Avengers first series. The Vision's programing got downloaded to a young version of Kang's Ironman like Armor. I know it sounds like something out of an X-Men comic, but at least someone is trying to undo Bendis's mess he made of the Avengers.
Singles, Trades, and Hardcovers, Oh My! - Nov 22, 2006 - 09:12am
Someone needs to write a ninja vampires vs zombie pirates comic. On a serious note I've never been a real Conan fan, but the Dark Horse run is really well done. Also pick up Ultimate Spider-Man. Bendis may suck at writing the Avengers, but he knows spider-man. His ultimate clone saga makes you almost forget the original one.
Peter Jackson not directing "The Hobbit" - Nov 20, 2006 - 07:16am
This is bad news indeed. New Line's yanking Jackson's chain can only spell disaster for these movies.
MGM's talks plans for "The Hobbit" - Nov 15, 2006 - 11:45am
I love the idea of a bridge movie connecting the Hobbit and LOTRs. Many years separate the stories and it would be great to see what happened during those years. However they NEED to get Jackson on board with this. I waited 25 years from when I first read LOTRs until the movies. I can wait a few more if it means Jackson does them right.
Thank You for Not Smoking - Nov 01, 2006 - 10:37am
SO now the Politicaly Correct Police have gotten to smoking in comics. Ah, the proverbial road to Hell and all that. People are so weird in what they believe. Kids see smoking in comics and they are going to smoke, but yet they won't emulate the violence in comics. They only do that when they watch TV. Kids won't become sexual deviants if they see a boob in National Geographic, but the universe might colapse if they see one on TV. Let's not even get into the millions of kids that are joining the Wiccan religion after reading Harry Potter, or that all of society ills can be traced via dancing all the way back to the Waltz. The fact is that all societies think their kids are going to hell, will become hoodlums, take drugs, start smoking, have sex, blow up schools, grow long hair, play cards, become artists/musicans because of what they see through various medias. They have for thousands of years, but that doesn't make it true. People did things they shouldn't long before comics, TV, movies, McDonalds, etc. They will continue to do so long after these things are gone. People will only change what they see as the cause for societies flaws.
As a side note, I'm not impressed with the new format, especially this dinky box for comments.
KNIGHT RIDER Poster online - Oct 05, 2006 - 11:37am
On a side note, they have to have the evil car. Nothing is funnier than an evil car.
KNIGHT RIDER Poster online - Oct 05, 2006 - 11:33am
The problem with some posters(puns may or may not be intended), like a certain jd is that it goes overboard. Yesterdays two pages of nothing was a bit much. Jd is very reminisent of his idol Tom Arnold. Even Ben Stiller, zombies, or tequila for that mater. They are funny and harmless in small doses, but too much and they give you a royal headache.
Character Consensus and the Evolution of Heroes - Oct 05, 2006 - 10:54am
Two thing:
1. I love Al and Kurt's mental sense of humor. The only problem I had was that it made the column hard to read.
2. The in-character/out of charater arguement. This is such a thing as too out of character. While you can argue whether Spiderman's unmasking was in character or not. Certain things would be out of character. It would be out of charcter for Peter to turn into a wife beater. I personaly hated Mark Waid's version of Dr. Doom. Doom always came off as being an arrogant ass, but never as utterly evil as Waid portrayed him. If you tweak a character too much, readers may no longer identify or sympathize with them.
KNIGHT RIDER Poster online - Oct 04, 2006 - 06:32am
Man, this disappearing posts thing is getting wierd.
Robert Downey Jr. is IRON MAN - Sep 29, 2006 - 07:19am
I really think this could work. Downy is a great actor. I'm so glad they didn't go with Cruise.
CIVIL WAR - Sep 28, 2006 - 02:00pm
Agreed. While I'm not a fan of Ironman, I can't imagine him having any crediblity after Civil War ends.
Doctor Who's Elisabeth Sladen gets spin-off show - Sep 28, 2006 - 01:54pm
I'm the Tin Dog! Best line in years. Noblenosense: I know there's a lot of history. But I think it's worth it. Start from the beginning, if you want. I'm not 100% sure that Dr.Who: the Beginning is available in the states, but it is on region 2 DVD in England. The show starts a bit slow, but gets much better over the years. If nothing else start with the show's renewal last year. The whole season is available in the states.
As to the spin-off...good idea. I can't be the only one who got a bit choked up seeing Sarah and K-9 return this season..
Wes Craven plans new horror film - Sep 28, 2006 - 01:17pm
I'm with noblenonsense: where's Freddy-vs-Jason-vs-Ash? Though I'm also a bit confused with dalton's comments making sense. What's up with that?!
PREDATOR's to get a new film? - Sep 28, 2006 - 01:12pm
I'd Love to see Sly up against the preditors. How about Bruce Campbell, or Kurt Russell?
CIVIL WAR - Sep 28, 2006 - 01:05pm
freelono, I don't usually pick up Cable and Deadpool. What happened ?
CIVIL WAR - Sep 28, 2006 - 12:58pm
I agree that the supervillian idea is too far-fetched. I realize that it is all part of the plot, but it's not very believable. With the whole negative zone prison. I can believe that Stark may have started this years ago. But Tony keeping the Thor hair sample. To me it's all a bit too Batman (JLA Tower of Babel) for me.
CIVIL WAR - Sep 28, 2006 - 09:59am
This Thor is not the same guy we saw pick up Mjolnor at the end of FF 538. We're lead to believe that it was Donald Blake. The clone Thor has no mortal host. The Mjolnir in Civil War 4 also seems to be some sort of energy weapon created for the clone. I love Thor, but I really do not want to see the clone fight the real Thor. Marvel has done the clone thing to death.
I have actually enjoyed Civil War. My only real problems are with the way some characters are written. Tony Stark comes off as almost too much of an ass. I also have a hard time believing Reed would so blindly follow Tony. All in all though, much better than I thought it would be.
MGM TV commissions animated SPACEBALLS - Sep 21, 2006 - 09:33pm
NoMel's not 85, he just turned 80 so that's not far off. I'm stil willing to give this a chance.
MGM TV commissions animated SPACEBALLS - Sep 21, 2006 - 01:55pm
Regardless of the timing I loved Spaceballs. Robinhood:Men in Tights was great. Though my friend Joe and I were the only people on the theatre that got the jokes. His only stinkeroo I've ever watched is Dracula: Dead and Loving It. The less said about this the better. I'll have to watch this animated version to make an opinion. As a side, the best spoofs of Star Wars are Hardware Wars, and Troopers.
Tolkien's THE CHILDREN OF HURIN to be published - Sep 21, 2006 - 01:48pm
Yes. Same thing happened on posts for Peabody and Sherman's movie amongst others.
I'm willing to give Chris a chance even if he is a pompous git. At least he's protective of his fathers work. By the by, happy 69th anniversary to the original publication of the Hobbit.
Rachel Bilson to play Wonder Woman? - Sep 21, 2006 - 01:41pm
I've been on the Charisma train for WW since day one. Though I've got to agree that Lawless could pull this off too. She can act and has the build. Bilson would be a great Wondergirl.
Digital Debate - Sep 21, 2006 - 05:09am
I've always thought that Tony was a dick, and Civil War just confirms it. Why does anybody trust this guy anymore? Is there anyone he hasn't betrayed or taken advantage of?
...WARNING...SPOILER,ahead.....After reading Civl War #4 all I've got to say is WTF?! This Thor is obviously not the same guy we saw at the end of FF # 538 picking up Mjolnir. Don't tell me we're going to get some lame real-Thor VS clone-Thor battle.
DreamWorks makes plans for MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN - Sep 16, 2006 - 08:35pm
Surely you remember Fractured Fairy Tales? They were one of the bumper stories in Rocky and Bullwinkle. There was Mr.Peabody, Aesop and Son, Fractured Fairy Tales, and Dudley Do-Right. McBragg, Go-Go Gophers, Klondike Cat, and Chumly were the bumpers in Underdog. All three seasons of Rocky and Bullwinkle are out on DVD and are well worth it. On a side note I will say that Shrek actually does have that Fractured Fairy Tale twist to it.
Secret of LOST's numbers revealed - Sep 15, 2006 - 07:13am
Yes there are problems with this show, but I love it. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the 2nd series finale blows it all apart. I can't wait for season 3.

I agree, this sounds as though someone wanted to get their hands on this manuscript. Wow, who'd have thought someone in authority would try to abuse thier position? I wonder what their initial excuse for trying to have her put it in her checked luggage was?
WOLVERINE: ORIGINS - Sep 15, 2006 - 06:52am
Kurt, I agree whole-heartedly. There's no white-washing what Logan has done in the past. I was a bit leery to read this series to start, as Wolverine has been poorly portrayed way too much in the past. I picked it up for Dillons art, and got hooked on the story. This is how he was intended to be portrayed.
Brent Spiner to old for STAR TREK XI - Sep 14, 2006 - 10:33pm
No, I've got nothing against B-4. I thought Insurrection was ok, but it also had too many plot holes. V was so bad that my sub-consious tries to block it out. It was so bad that rumor had it Roddenberry didn't want it considered canon. I mean really, Spock just happens to have a 1/2 brother he never mentioned and he wants to find God?! Paramount needs to give us a good story. Toss in some cameos to make the fans happy. And don't F*ck with continuity.

tkay42one..I don't hate Nemesis. I just hate having my intelligence insulted in what should be a serious movie. When three seperate look-a-likes show up on Gilligans Island I laugh, because you just can't take it seriously. The original mirror-mirror episode was great. Then we get Lore, the evil robot twin..it's okay, but kinda hokey. DS9 goes back to mirror-mirror for more evil twins, by the time we get to Evil-Picard it just gets old. Add to the fact that he is a slave and just happens to gain access to one of the biggest weapons ever shown in Trek is just not believable. I know the special effects will be great..so I'm just asking that the story is at least somewhat believable.

#35..Spiner was hilarious on Night Court.
#37...I'm sorry but lame-ass-evil-clones do not make good villians. It's so over done, especially in Star Trek. The evil doppelganger with a death-ray was done on Gilligan's Island 40 years ago. Granted the special effects were cool and Ron Pearlman was great, but his character was a refugee from Plan Nine From Outerspace. The Dunebuggy scene was beyond useless. Data's death was gratuitous and added nothing to the story. Everyone on the ship seems surprised to find B4, forgetting all about Lore. I love Worf, but finding a way to get him on the Enterprise for each movie is becoming the 'How do we get Murdock out this week' plot of the A-Team. Sorry ,but Nemesis was mediocre at best. Still, it wasn't as bad as V or Generations.
