Entertainment Weekly has published their "Best of 2003" issue including dueling best and worst movie lists from two different critics. "American Splendor" was named the #1 movie of 2003 by Owen Gleiberman while Lisa Schwarzbaum ranked it #4 (behind "Return of the King", "Mystic River" and "Lost in Translation").
"Daredevil" made Gleiberman's worst list, ranking #2 there.
A side bar in the printed article once again names "American Splendor" the "Best Movie Based on a Comic Book". Just below that is the "Worst Movie Based on a Comic Book", name a tie with "Daredevil" and "The Hulk".
"Splendor" also sits at the top of the "Critical Mass" list, averaging review grades from 11 critics. "Splendor" in one of only 2 films to pull a solid A.
