Exclusive First Look at STAR TREK Manga Cover

Cinescape has received an exclusive first look at the cover of the upcoming manga STAR TREK.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of STAR TREK and TOKYOPOP is proud to present a manga based on The Original Series. To be released in September 2006, the book is an anthology series containing four all new stories including the origin of a major Next Generation villain.

The story titles and creative teams are as follows:

actually it looks like Kirk was supposed to be holding a phaser in EACH hand, but they forgot to put them in? LOL! its the Death Star puzzle pieces!! HAHA! yeah I wasnt impressed either, but then again the Gold Key Trek Comics (I have two volumes) werent all that hot either and neither were the Marvel Trek books.

It definitely looks more manga than 'Trek, but Kirk's pose conveys a sense of overacting which may be a sign it will be true to the series.
