The next Ridley Scott production is Exodus. The film is a retelling of Moses leading the Hebrews out of Egypt. Joel Edgerton (The Great Gasby) has now been signed to play Ramses. He will play opposite Christian Bale’s (The Dark Knight Trilogy) Moses. Shooting begins this September.

Synopsis: “In the Book of Exodus, Moses was born as a Hebrew at a time when the Pharaoh had commanded that male Hebrew children be drowned. The infant Moses was set adrift on the Nile in a basket, rescued by the Pharaoh’s daughter and raised in the royal family as a brother to the future Pharoah. According to the Biblical story, the adult Moses was commanded by God to go to Egypt and deliver the Hebrews from bondage”.

Exodus is slated for a December 12th, 2014 release.

Let's hope Sir Ridley remembers the actual time period for the events in this movie.  Somehow he managed to screw up the time period for Robin Hood.

That said I did really enjoy Kingdom of Heaven and Gladiator, so I'm hoping for more like those 2 films and not like Robin Hood and Prometheus.

Bale and Edgerton will have a hard time being fun Eastertime movie watching as Heston and Brynner in The Ten Commandments.

Okay okay okay hold the phone.  Bale is being cast as the Egyptian Moses!!  Come on how bad is this going to be!!

Okay that's over just kidding.  I'm a born and raised Catholic and have seen the 10 Commandments so many times.  I'm totally down to check this out.  Liking the casting so far and I can never complain with Ridley Scott involved.

I love Ridley Scott, Christian Bale and the Moses story, but it seems that there are so many versions of the Moses story already out there, if filmmakers want tyo make a Bible story movie try tackling other stories from the bible instead?

Where's the Noah's Ark movie starring Russel Crowe?

Exodus is a fantastic story of science fiction fantasy in epic scale. Cecile B. DeMille did it justice back in the 56. Very eager to see Scott's take on it.

Science fiction Muenster?  Okay wow I didn't see that version I guess, must be some deleted scenes out there with aliens or something.  Anyway I do love the Ten Commandments, its good acting and great spectacle, but I can see how it can be remade.  It has been a long time.  Not sure about Bale, like him as an actor, can't picture him as Moses, I hope I am wrong though.

Ugh. Typo. Ridley Scott- and I start thinking science fiction.

Hmm... DeMille actually made two 10 Commandments. The first 1923 being silent.
