Plus Swag and Exclusives!

Mania was on hand to witness the the first images ever seen from Star Wars Rebels, including the logo. Though no actual footage was shown, Supervising Director and Executive Producer Dave Filoni did treat the audience with concept art of his own and the Ralph McQuarrie images that have inspired the show.

There wasn’t much that he could reveal about the show though. Will it have a goal of 100 episodes like Clone Wars? Right now, Filoni just hopes to get the show finished on time. Exactly how much time has lapsed since Episode III? Well that he wouldn’t reveal. When asked if there were any Clone Wars characters going to appear in this new series Filoni just smiled. He told us that Star Wars characters are near and dear to his heart, especially ones he created. Then he just smiled.

Since this is Star Wars Celebration there was immediate swag and exclusives t-shirts for Star Wars Rebels. At the very bottom is the button they handed out and one of the t-shirts on sale here in Germany. The other shirt just featured the logo. This blue print shirt of “The Ghost” (also featured int he concept art) is pretty damn cool.

Here is the official press release from Lucasfilm:

Star Wars Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni pulled back the curtain on Lucasfilm's highly anticipated animated series for  Star WarsCelebration Europe attendees today, discussing the huge influence of original Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie on the look and feel of the show, and revealing the series’ unique logo and select designs. Filoni talked at length about the use of McQuarrie art as a springboard for the series, showcasing many works from the original trilogy, including landscapes and characters, and detailing how they inform the visual identity of Star Wars Rebels.

While unable to attend in person, Executive Producers Simon Kinberg and Greg Weisman shared their excitement for the series in a video message recorded specifically for Celebration attendees.

Star Wars Rebels is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, and will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

This looks like "the ghost" of General Grievous from Episode III.

The Ghost?  Could it be Snips?

Line up for this show: Vader, the Emp, Tarkin, Boba Fett, Jabba, Greedo, young Liea, Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Ackbar, other Jedi who have survived...

Sounds like a good cast to me...
