Seth McFarlane is giving it another shot. The creator of FAMILY GUY (which has become a hit on DVD and in reruns on Cartoon Network) is been given the OK from Fox Television to work on a pilot for a new animated series. The series is tentatively titled AMERICAN DAD.
The family at the heart of DAD consists of a right-centered CIA agent named Stan, his wife, two kids, their pet goldfish (who happens to be French) and a resident alien -- as in extraterrestrial. McFarlane is writing the pilot with former FAMILY GUY staff writers Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman. As was the case with FAMILY GUY, McFarlane is expected to voice several of the new show's characters.
AMERICAN DAD may be ready in time for Fox's fall 2004 season.
