After only one day of work on the currently shooting MEN IN BLACK 2, Famke Janssen was forced to drop out of the production.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Janssen explained that her exit was due to an illness in the family.

Meanwhile, Lara Flynn Boyle (THE PRACTICE) was quickly signed on to fill the role Janssen left, that of an evil, alien bombshell named Serleena.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are returning to reprise their roles from the first film. The sequel, which is rumored to involve a war in space, will also feature Johnny Knoxville and Rosario Dawson in the cast.
