After nearly two months on the rumor vine, People is confirming that 15-year old actress Dakota Fanning is officially on board Summit Entertainment's upcoming sequel Twilight Saga's New Moon. Last report had the actress excited to play a part in the franchise but there's been no confirmations on whether she was officially signed until now.

She will play Jane, a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior who works for the Volturi.

In a fast turnaround from the smash hit last fall, production will begin later this month in Vancouver in hopes of getting it into theaters by November 20, 2009.

Fellow star Nikki Reed (plays Rosalie Hale) told the magazine that they just got the script and the plan is to shoot the next two films, Twilight Saga's New Moon and Twilight Saga's Eclipse, back to back.

First wiseguy the the first movie was not "shit".  I can name about hundred other movies that were "shit" and some of those  actually won oscars and people said they were they were the greatest thing since sliced bread.   And who cares if it is a rush job as long as they do it right. I applaud studios that  don't waste time with debating if they wanna do the sequel or not.  A lot of movies do worse when they wait to long to do the next. Don't hate on any new and up and coming directors until they  f it up. (like Bryan Singer- he actually does suck) So give it a rest and knock the chip off your chest.

Damn I gotta finish reading these books before they're all out in the theater.

Hell, I still haven't finished "The Historian" from...what was it, 2005?

And I'm still working on "Where Is Joe Merchant?"

I liked Twilight the movie and the book. I'd like to see the movie again now that I've actually read the book to see just how different they are.

Hey wiseguy, maybe I oughta tell some moonshine running stories from the area. Maybe you'll like that.

Damn, what's up with the rush job? Are they afraid their target audience will grow up and move on. The first one was shit and with the rush job they got going on I have every reason to believe this one will stink it up just as bad. And having Weitz at the helm doesn't give me an iota of optimism.

Why are you so hateful today Wise?

Wiseguy 3/8/2009 4:10:57 PM

hanso, I'm channeling Rorschach after watching the film twice over the weekend

The studios are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their bad writing, casting, directing and prostituting themselves to the tweeners will foam up about their waists and all the executives, writers and directors will look up and shout 'Save us!' And I'll whisper 'no, fuck no"

And Spider, that movie was shit. Why do you think they went with a new director. Unfortunately he's shit too. But hey, shit, like caviar and frog legs, is an acquired taste and my taste buds are more sensitive than yours, so excuse me.

I think daylight savings time is fucking with the mania server. Something weird is going on.

Wiseguy562, you're now band from this site.

Seriously, don't come back. You crude and distructive. Begone with you.

Dude, the film is for the Ladies, why watch it in the first place. I don't watch Chick Flicks very much and I don't intend to watch these.

Oh please, I wish Ed would turn her all ready. Vampire meets girl, vampire turns girl agaisnt her will. that's what it's all about, at least Buffy was as tough as a vampire slayer that's why it was harder for her to die.

Bella, no comparison. she's just another human and could easily die.

WISEGUY, you are welcome on this site any time. You are not "band."  Or banned. Either one. Hell, I don't know, maybe you really are a band. The web is pretty anonymous. Maybe you're really the Rolling Stones, who are closet genre geeks, so they got together and created an online profile to join the discussions...
