Young actress Dakota Fanning is set to play Lewis Carroll's Alice in a potential film franchise at DreamWorks. The blonde-haired little miss is closing a deal to star in a new ALICE IN WONDERLAND movie which, if it's a hit, could be followed by a sequel titled THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. Carroll's classic fantasy tomes are to be adapted by Les Bohem, the screenwriter behind the Sci Fi Channel's mini-series STEVEN SPIELBERG'S TAKEN in which Fanning had a plum role.
Convinced that the advances in special effects could bring Carroll's stories to life like never before, Bohem pitched the idea of a new adaptation of the books to DreamWorks honco Steven Spielberg. The plan is to adapt each of the books separately as individual films.
