FANTASTIC FOUR 2 Flies to a New Date

It seems the Fantastic Four are no match for a bunch of toys. Transformers and Fantastic Four had both been staking claim to the July 4th, 2007 release date, a game of chicken if you will. The Fantastic Four swerved first.

Bumping the release up two weeks, Fantastic Four 2 will now release on June 15th. This marks the second time Fantastic Four has chickened out, once with War of the Worlds and once with Transformers. The original Fantastic Four was also slated to release on July 4th and also moved up two weeks to avoid another tent pole.

The collapse in Used Guys production left the June 15th date open.

IT BETTER BE WORTH IT...THE FIRST WAS SORTA A LET DOWN BUT STILL ENJOYED IT...CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT THE SILVER SURFER BRINGS TO THE MIX.

When I watched FF on DVD I found that I enjoyed it more than when I saw it in the theaters. The movie's kind of grown on me. Flawed? To be sure, but it was fun. I look forward to seeing the second one, especially if they include the Silver Sufer. I'd rather see the Inhumans, but Surfer and Galactus would be great too.

I liked the comments Michael Chilkis made, that the 2nd film would not have as much "exposition" in the characters' backstory, and focus more on the action.

Silver Surfer and Galactus was the best storyline in FF history. It's a really big movie to take on ... I hope they do it right!

Silver Surfer and Galactus was the FF's most epic storyline by far. I'm glad they've waited until technology in FX can make it right. I hope they pull it off!

I'll stop posting now. I thought the first one didn't hit.

I really enjoyed the first one. It wasn't perfect, but I liked it. I worry, though, about seeing Galactus and the Silver Surfer on screen in live action. I'm afraid it will look cheesy. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I'm probably in the uber minority that would've seen both films that 4-day weekend. I love the Transformers and the concept. I enjoyed the first FF, flaws and all.

If I had to pick first I would've seen FF cause I have an idea of what to expect on a number of levels.

Transformers I'm curious about and extremly cautious of what I'm going to get in terms of story and SFX. I know with Michael Bay I'll get lots of explosions but beyond that its kind of in the air.

FF was a guilty pleasure because it should have been waaayyyy better then it was. Having said that I hope FF2 is wayyy better because we deserve it! Otherwise I will have to attach myself to the production of the film and work it into my grand marvel scheme!!! Bawhawhaw!!!
