FANTASTIC FOUR sequel gets another title

According to Superhero Hype, the upcoming sequel to 20th Century Fox's FANTASTIC FOUR has received another title change.

The movie was previously known as Fantastic Four and The Silver Surfer, but will now be known as FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER. The second film, directed by Tim Story, is set to hit theaters on June 15, 2007.

In the sequel, the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of The Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.

Michael Chiklis, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, Jessica Alba and Julian McMahon star.

I like the new title but I hope the movie lives up to it.

The "Doom Returns" subplot sounds a bit too unwieldy, especially when you're already trying to explain "Silver Surfer", "Galactus" and "power cosmic" to an easily confused audience.

I liked the first movie and believe the Galactus angle is the only they could've gone, but I think they're overreaching themselves here.

I like the Galactus story they are doing. Its cool that they are trying to be a little moe faithful to the comic story. I`m not sure about the return of Doom, unless they change his look into the real large Vader like comic book version. This will hopefully be much better than the 1st, one which was okay but not great.

Agreed; first one was just a fun popcorn movie, like riding the Superman ride ten times in a row. This should be a good sequel.

Sounds like an ambitious movie; I just hope Story's up to it. While not a great film, I really enjoyed the first FF as a fun popcorn movie, so I'm really hopeful the second film will deliver the goods.

Sounds like a winner! Maybe it will be like the old Secret Wars subplot with Doom trying to steal the powers of Galactus for his own.
