USA Today has a first look at the Fantasticar, which will make it's debut in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

You can see the image to the left.

Translating the flying car from the page to the big screen was no small effort, says Tim Flattery, conceptual artist for the Fantastic Four sequel, which hits screens June 15. He showed several designs to director Tim Story, including one based loosely on the Batmobile.

In the end Flattery looked for more tranquil inspiration from the sea. He based the final design on manta rays and stingrays.

"They have a natural flow and grace," said Flattery.  "We wanted something that looked like it could glide as easily as they do."

Yeah, let s see. I hope it will not look like the thunderbirds, I mean the moovie, the serie was great. I was so despointed about the first fantastic four, i hope the silver surfer will rise the level. But as an exfan of the comics, I am not happy with the moovie. I am with hulk, with X men, with spidey, i am not with the punisher, Dardevil, superman and fantastic four....

HATED Superman Returns. Loved Superman TRDC. I actualy like FF. I thought it was fun. I am looking foward to the sequel. Punisher was okay. Daredevil was not!!! Craptastic. I like the Fantasticar. Looks good. Lets hope the sequel gives us a great story..Story.

considering it only took me 7 months to finally rent the FF DVD really shows my disinterest in FF the movie, which was pretty much a two hour over glorified Fantastic four Trailer, it didnt "suck" outright like Ang Lee's Hulk and didnt have as many plotholes as Daredevil or Electra, it just WASNT GOOD. However theres hope yet for the inevitable sequel.... but I'm sitll waiting to read the reviews.

Fantastic Four 1 was great, and Superman Returns was the best film this year. I can't wait for FF2.

The new costume on Invisible Girl is the biggest disappointment in that photo.

The Fantasticar looks slick, expect that it doesn't look like it separates. I always thought that was the coolest part of Reed's design. I agree with wolfmanx...Jessica Alba could be rolled in mud, dressed in a burlap bag and still look amazing. The first FF movie was weak in a lot of places, but I thought it was a fun popcorn movie and Evans and Chiklis hit Johnny and Ben's characterizations just right. I'm really looking forward to the second installment; I'm sure Silver Surfer's going to look fantastic.

Well, I thought the first FF movie was okay. It has a very MTV quality and was just a little to not serious to make me cringe in my seat a few times. It lacked a depth of storyline. Superman Returns on the other hand, had a wonderful storyline, and people bash it because there weren't enough big explosions and fireworks. By the way... I would pay for a movie that showed Jessica Alba rolling around in mud... is that in Developmental Hell or something??

Car looks cool. I was worried about that. Here's hoping they do at *least* as good a job with the Surfer & Galactus.
