My first thought is bomb.  They really need to think about how they do these types of movies.  Might be better if it's a toon movie maybe. 

I don't know, I think this could be good. The fact that they got Fassbender attached bodes well for how much support they might be willing to put behind this project. Although, I sense a major bastardization of the games' story coming . . .

This should be one of the easiest adaptations to do.  They have a rich history on which to work, Fassbender definitely looks the part, and they already have a story framework from the games.  There have been movies like this before that have been good...not based on video games but still...

I'm no gamer and know nothing about it other than the game trailers are great. Hopefully, they've got the right team of filmmakers assembled becuase video game movies are notoriously unsuccessful.

At least they're really trying to make a go of this bringing on Fassbender.  Who knows, it might actually turn out well!

I hear this and I immediately think of Prince of Persia and the steaming pile that movie turned out to be.  I enjoy the games for the most part, so I hope this does well.  On other hand I hope the movie doesn't turn out to be just like the games and start out fun and entertaining and then get boring and repetitive.

 i don't know shit about the game so maybe i will like it. it has fassbender that's good enough for me hes a great actor..is it a bloody gorry killing kinda game? because it it is then cool ..

the games are pretty fun. he's a batman kind of character in that he melts into the shadows, but not so batman in that he finds various ways to kill his targets i.e. throwing knives, retractable knives in his sleeves, short swords, long swords, kills from above, etc.  also, the scope of the games are pretty impressive as far as the vista shots go when he shows up to a new city. the previews for the new game are examples of how good the action can be.   there's good mystery and if handled right, the movie should be just fine. 

btw, way different than prince of persia, imo.  not so light hearted.  think terminator in the middle ages.

If there's a really good storyline to it, the movie will probably do well. Just focusing on the action shots and blood and gore will ruin it. I thought Timothy Olyphant was a good enough actor, but Hitman could have been so much better with a decent storyline. Same thing with Prince of Persia.
