Initially production of Fast & Furious 7 had been delayed, following the tragic death of Paul Walker. Yesterday, Universal Studios released an official statement on what will be happening with the film.

"Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker."

It appears that Walker’s scenes were not as completed as many had hoped. With filming nearly completed in Atlanta, there were still footage to obtain in the Middle East. It looks as if Universal may have either some heavy re-writes or perhaps even start over. That have not said that they are abandoning the franchise. It just doesn’t seem likely that the seventh film will arrive in time for its July 2014 release date.

Universal Studios have released a video tribute for Paul Walker, which you can watch below.

Not the greatest actor in the world but he carved out a nice niche for himself with this franchise. I bet they end up scrapping the production and starting from scratch. Too bad, the franchise just isn't going to be the same without him. I feel bad for his family losing someone unexpected like that. I thank the Lord everyday he’s gracious enough to fill my lungs with air. RIP

 lol Wise same here.

Im sure many of u guys have read this story already about how he was at a jewelry store and overheard a couple shopping for an engagement ring and how they couldn't afford the one they loved. Well he ended up talking to the clerk about them, and once she mentioned how the guy is a U.S. Veteran going back on his 2nd tour, his face changed and he ended up secretely buying it for them ($9000 engagement ring). It wasn't until his death the clerk finally confirmed to the couple. What a great story.

This guy was not that great actor but a true class act.

But the Fast franchise was his just like Vin's. He will be missed.

If they do restart I hope we get those scenes he did do as deleted scenes.

It's so weird that word is he and Vin didn't really get along.  I always thought they were as close offscreen as they were on.  You can't really tell.

Really sad, though.

Great video.  You know with all the bullshit celebrities that are superficial assholes (Kanye, Kardashians, Miley, etc.), this kid was genuinely a great guy.  It's true, bad things happen to good people.  God Bless Paul, you were taken too early.  Glad to see that some proceeds from the DVD sales for FF6 are going to his charities.  I hope they finish #7 and are somehow able give him a memorable sendoff.

Me too, Wise!!  God bless you Paul, you're in a much better place and as a born again Christian I really believe that!!

Paul Walker , died too young , and hearing the stories about Him , He seemed a very cool Dude that didn't let Hollywood go to His head and extended kindness and help support needy People . No He wasn't at all a very good Actor , but had heart and that counts a lot . I think FF7 wont be back in production for a long while , or if they do decide to still make the film now without Paul Walker. In my town they are having a  Charity in His honor , most of the muscle cars in town will be there.

This was my actually first choice to play Capt America. Since the next one is about Jason Stathum's character being bent on revenge, I would rewrite the story to have Brian be one of his first targets for revenge. It would make the story move along, but you would need to find another actor/part to pick up his position in the team. Would not be hard to write in a family member or something.
