For those looking for Cinemania on FB, narrow the search down to Community instead of Groups.  It will help a lot!!

theicon I think some people are mentioning a black Spider-man because the internet is chattering about Donald Glover as an option for Spider-man casting after he voiced Miles in the Ultimate Spidey cartoon.  Regardless, I have faith that Marvel will do right by Spider-man and show Sony how it is done!!

Hey Calamity you should make it into a Facebook Group called Maniacs or Cinescape Maniacs or something along those lines.  That way it would give us all a page to chat on and keep in touch in case things go even more south.

DC Comics Gay Character Revealed (Article) - 2/17/2015 3:01:04 PM

Is anyone watching The Walking Dead?  No one to talk about it with on here without reviews!!

Most of the people I know are hating it, while I am loving it.  Sunday night's episode left me with chills after the unexpected new character at the end.  As a reader of the comics, this got me totally stoked as I was not expecting him until near the end of the season.  The only thing that they did skip out on that kinda pissed me off was that they didnt have Maggie try to hang herself.  They had her on the brink of despair and could have easily followed that piece of the comic that imo really develops her character into the future Maggie of the books.

Most people are hating on the dark gritty vibe they are currently going with.  To me it is playing off the desperation that they are feeling.

That is great news Chuck, and I will definitely be checking out Trate's new gig as well.

Such fond memories I have on this site.  While I did not post as deeply and memorably as some, I always enjoyed reading the articles and the comments.  As much grief as we liked to give Blankczech, you have always been part of the family here, albeit the grumpy old senile grampa sitting on the porch chasing kids away with his cane, but still family.  The continuous arguments between DC and Marvel led by some of the funniest group of guys I could meet, Wise, Jedi and Hanso (to name a few).  Karas and her never giving up on her personal destruction of modern Star Trek blasphemy.  Rkngl and his army of spoiler trolls.  Violator and his often disturbingly sexual angst.  Vaux and everyones' cries of anger at his off fthe wall grading curve to his reviews HAHA!  And many others lazarus, Gamehenge, Sanity, Elbaz, DarkXid, Eldogg, Milean, monkeyfoot, Calamity, DarthBob, Gauleyboy...and the hundreds of others whose names I could not think of off the top of my head.  You will all be missed.

A huge thanks to Bob Trate, Chuck Francisco, Rob Vaux, Tim Janson, and all of the columnists that made this site what it was.  I still have my Star Wars Clone Wars figure that I won in a caption contest once upon a time and it will always bring me fond memories.  Hopefully things take off well on Chuck's new site and we will see some of you over there.

Love at First Bite & Once Bitten Double Feature Blu-ray Review (Article) - 2/10/2015 9:21:43 PM

They have moved the release date of Thor: Ragnarok to November for what one can only assume is a summer Spidey flick!

While Sony still maintains the rights and final creative say, they are giving Marvel (Disney) a 2017 stand alone Spider-man release with Sony receiving 60% of the profits, which Sony felt was adequate since their last 2 attempts at Peter Parker fell short of their goals the AS2 was the lowest grossing of the last 5 attempts.  They saw 60% of the multi-billion dollar efforts Disney is putting out with zero of the work and said yes.  The remaining factor is the compensation of Avi Arad.
