FEARnet, the world’s premiere horror and thriller website and video on demand service, continues to break new ground in original web programming with the November 2nd debut of the chilling, new interactive daily web series event BURIED ALIVE. Running through December 13, this innovative daily series will feature a new two-minute episode premiering each morning at 10:00 AM EST on FEARnet.com, and will take viewers on a terrifying trek across the Internet to discover the eerie mysteries and secrets behind the program’s pulsating plotline.
Trapped in this underground world that is ruled by a maniacal, God-like antagonist, the group must discover the connections between themselves; the reasons for their abductions; and, with luck, an escape from the nightmare. Buried Alive begins with a terrifying darkness, the sound of staccato breathing, spurts of weeping, and the horrifying screech of fingernails against metal. Someone is buried alive. Rick, a handsome, 20 year-old, is just one of the victims trapped in a coffin. Illuminated in the darkness by the flame of a cigarette lighter, the details of the scene come into focus as a night-vision camera, embedded in the corner of the coffin, captures his every move. On his left, an ominous warning: SAVE YOUR BREATH.
Aiding the group above ground are two sleuths, siblings Melanie and Travis, each with a secret stake tied to the victims’ fates. The duo will piece together information gleaned from found footage and online diaries hidden on the Web, in the ultimate race against time to unravel the mystery and discover the locations of the buried coffins before time runs out.
“What makes Buried Alive so distinctive is that it is truly an immersive, interactive multi-platform programming event,” said Diane Robina, President of FEARnet. “Characters and clues have a presence on-line in some of the most unexpected places. From cell phones to YouTube and entertainment sites, clues are waiting to be discovered.”
FEARnet has also developed an interactive, flash-based widget for BURIED ALIVE that will be released on Wednesday, October 31st and that will be continually updated throughout the life of the series. It will further viewers’ interaction by uncovering ‘buried videos’ that are not found on FEARnet, and that showcase the characters’ abductions, helping to augment viewers’ understanding and give backstory to the series. The widget will also feature: a promotional trailer for the show; the first two episodes of BURIED ALIVE, prior to their premiere on FEARnet; a countdown clock to the series’ official launch on Friday (11/2/07); profiles, descriptions and photos of each of the victims; a coffin cam, which gives audiences a look into the tight quarters, and then launches into a flash sequence previewing the series; and finally a link to FEARnet’s BURIED ALIVE site (www.FEARnet.com/buriedalive).
Buried Alive stars Britt Morgan, Jeff Blum, Bram Hoover, Nikki McKenzie, Greyson Chadwick, Natalie Wachen, JR May, Augusto Aguilar, and John Charles Meyer. The series is executive produced by John Norris & Paul Etheredge, who also served as director. For FEARnet, the series is being Executive Produced by Jim Burns, co-creator of MTV's Unplugged series. Buried Alive is a White Rock Lake Production and is distributed by Sony Pictures Television.

Yeah cause you're dumb enough to burn off your last supply of oxygen by using a cigarette lighter.
Maybe they are supplying him with oxygen.
Either way just sounds kinda bad from the description. Oh and the night vision being used would probably get burned out from being in such a small space with the character using a cigarette lighter. Maybe I just think about this stuff too much?
