Don't take this for confirmed fact but there are inside sources inside the 24 creative process that are hinting that there may be a female president in next season's 24. A source whispered that bit of speculation to The Hollywoood Reporter. Obviously, nothing is set in stone but it would go into today's current political climate with Hillary Rodham Clinton in the running for our countrie's top leadership spot. The 7th season begins when the Primaries are in their prime stages of activity. Bill Clinton has even been quoted in May that 24 is one of his favorite shows.

As a fan of the show, I do have a question for the 24 creators...Where is Powers Boothe going? I could have sworn they signed his character on for 2 seasons? What about the Wayne Palmer character from the show? How many presidents are we going to go through in the show? I guess we can thank our lucky stars the situations on 24 has no resemblance to real life.

I have so many things to say...
Being President on this show is dangerous!

Karen Hayes would make a cool POTUS but I think they are going in a new direction. I still think they should stick with Wayne Palmer or Vice President Daniels.

maverick: I saw this story posted on the "Ausiello Report" over at TV Guide the other day. Perhaps THIS is where you saw it?

Just wanted to say again, I appreciate Jarrod's take over "KJ's take" any day. At least you have constructive things to say.

Maybe they'll try to recreate the magic of Geena Davis from Commander in Chief...

Hmm...I didn't hear any news about Powers Boothe being on staff for the rest of the series - where did you hear that Jarrod? This story does sound promising, albeit a retread of season 1 since that took place on the day of the California presidential primary. If Jack Bauer has to once again save a presidential candidate's life I'm all for it, but I hope next season turns out better than season 6.

24 resembling real life. Since when? Even at its best, the show, has implausiblilities and plot holes to fill CTU. Sometimes you go along with it, but sometimes it is just too much.

Okay, I'd like to see them, at least try, to put the President in the background. Sounds more like an agenda move than anything in real life. I'm sorry, but I'm not really ready to give Hillary the seat on TV. Use Booth and put him in the background. Just TOO many Presidents, scandals and deaths in that position. Let's just focus on Jack.

Considering how disappointing last season was (by the end, I really didn't care who lived or died), I hope they do a lot more than just jam in a female president to jump start this show.

Jppintar, I never said 24 resembles real life. I said it "doesn't" resemble it.. Jarrod

They need to completely get rid of all the soap opera crap. No more bickering co-workers arguing about who they want to sleep with while a national emergency is going on. No family members no one cares about. No white house scandal crap. If it doesn't have anything to do with the terror threat it shouldn't be in the show. If I want to watch Days of Our Lives, well, I'll never want to watch Days of Our Lives so I have no way of finishing that sentence.

Being a huge fan of previous seasons, I was somewhat disapointed by season 6. They resolved a familiar conflict too quick and easy and ended with an anti-climatic story between Jack and his father; a story I don't think anyone cared about. The very ending was the worst in the series, failing to set up the next season and continuing to propagate a tired story arc involving the now annoying Audrey character. All the elements of this season were boring and recycled, maybe they should have Jack be abducted by U.F.O.'s and get Mulder and Scully on the case..........you can't tell me that won't get some serious ratings. Either way, ditch C.T.U., ditch the political characters and give up on middle eastern bad guys. Give us a story that we couldn't possibly believe Jack could survive. Thats what made this show great in the past and will make it great again.
