As the years pass, it has become more and more en vogue for the studios to delve into those old comic books for their stories. And geeks everywhere celebrate seeing their favorite characters brought to life. And with each new Marvel film there is always a place for Stan Lee. He has sold hot dogs on the beach in X-Men, been saved by a young Matt Murdock, and even played Willie Lumpkin in Fantastic Four.
So, the question is raised, will he be reprising his role in the upcoming Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer? Screenwriter Don Payne says, "Stan Lee is, his pictures appear online, so I'll say yes, he does have a cameo, but we'll see how much of it is in the final film, but I think it is important that Stan Lee shows up at the wedding of Reed Richards and Susan Storm for obvious geek reasons."
While visiting the set in Vancouver, I was shown some footage from Reed and Sue's wedding. So, who is that, is that Willie Lumpkin? Nope, that would be Stan Lee. In one of the more clever cameos thus far, Stan Lee is trying to get into the wedding by telling the doorman, "But I'm Stan Lee," as he is turned away.
