I thought the last one was the last one? WTF??

David Koechner, Nicholas D'Agosto, P.J. Byrne and Ellen Wroe are the latest to join New Line's Final Destination 5, the latest installment of the horror franchise which centers on the idea that you can't cheat death. The four thespians will be joining the previously confirmed star Miles Fisher in the production under the direction of Steven Quale. Writer Eric Heisserer (upcoming The Thing prequel) fleshed out the story which is set to begin lensing September 13 in Vancouver.
Plot Concept: Each installment focuses on a group of people who survive a catastrophe but end up expiring in elaborate Rube Goldberg-like fashion. The new movie sees the new batch of victims, co-workers on a corporate retreat, escaping the collapse of a city's suspension bridge. Koechner is playing a clueless executive. D'Agosto plays a guy who doesn't make fast decision in his own life. Byrne is an obnoxious kleptomaniac while Wroe plays the daughter of a company executive, a woman with gymnast training who is a little snobby and for whom everything is a contest. Tony Todd is returning to his Mr. Bludworth role.
If it had tanked, then it would have beenthe last one. Since it provided six more months of Hookers & Blow......There be sequels here.
Would you all stop going to these so they stop green lighting sequels???? And studio execs....just use the $$$ to pay off some of my debts and buy me a new car instead
Never saw one of these. I've had no interest in them. But reading the description of people having a miraculous survival makes me think that DC/Warners ought to do a Challengers Of The Unknown movie or TV series. A story about a foursome who come out unscathed from a plane crash and believe they are on borrowed time, then setting out on fantastic adventures could make a great franchise.
I care not what you naysayers proclaim, these films are my favorite guilty pleasures and I say keep bringin em on!! I think the suspension bridge scene is going to be awesome. The opening sequences always are!
What, no mention of 3D? These films for me are a flip of a coin, depends on how I feel that weekend. If I'm in the mood for some comedy and gore I'll see it. The last one was the worst of the the franchise IMO despite the 3D. They need to push the boundaries, fuck it, even if it means an NC17 rating
So this isn't another "teen's meet horrible ends" installment? I didn't care for the fourth movie, except that I did appreciate the twist ending. Aside from that, the rest was predictable. They always like calling out the death scenes, don't they? This new film seems to have promise, especially with Tony Todd finally returning to the franchise.
Do we really need a other one...???
