JOHN Q pushes DAMAGE far down

With the final numbers in, we know how big JOHN Q lorded over the box office top ten this last weekend, and how far ROLLERBALL fell in its second week.


When the final beans were counted, JOHN Q opened to $23.6 million, followed still by CROSSROADS and RETURN TO NEVERLAND.


Last week's number one, Arnold Schwarzenegger's COLLATERAL DAMAGE, fell to number five with $9.6 million. But that wasn't the week's biggest fall.


ROLLERBALL, which opened last week amid searing reviews, fell 48-percent from its opening, sending it quickly into oblivion.

1. JOHN Q, $23.6 million this weekend, $23.6 since opening.


2. CROSSROADS, $17.0 million this weekend, $17.0 since opening.


3. RETURN TO NEVERLAND, $15.6 million this weekend, $15.6 since opening.


4. BIG FAT LIAR, $11.4 million this weekend, $24.9 since opening.


5. COLLATERAL DAMAGE, $9.6 million this weekend, $29.0 since opening.


6. A BEAUTIFUL MIND, $9.4 million this weekend, $125.7 million since opening.


7. HART'S WAR, $8.9 million this weekend, $8.9 million since opening.


8. BLACK HAWK DOWN, $7.2 million this weekend, $96.4 since opening.


9. SUPER TROOPERS, $7.1 million this weekend, $7.1 million since opening.


10. SNOW DOGS, $6.7 million this weekend, $68.1 million since opening.
