Harry Potter's Final Book
The first printing of the upcoming Harry Potter
novel, a record breaking 12 million copies, will be environmentally friendly.
Scholastic Inc has agreed with the Rainforest Alliance, a conservation organization that works with the business community, on tightened environmental standards which will assure all the paper used has a minimum of 30 percent post-consumer waste (pcw) fiber.
In addition, nearly two-thirds of the 16,700 tons of paper will be approved by the Forest Stewardship Council, an international organization which promotes environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests.
The novel is 784 pages long and comes out July 21.
