PANIC ROOM held on to the top spot in a week that saw three new and relatively weak films debut in the top ten.
The Ashley Judd thriller HIGH CRIMES debuted in second place, $3 million behind ROOM with $15.0 million take, while the frat house comedy NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VAN WILDER was only strong enough to make it to fifth place.
But that's TITANIC compared to Barry Sonnenfeld's delayed comedy BIG TROUBLE, which only took in $3.7 million and barely made it to eighth. As for the rest, it is essentially unchanged.
Here's the rest of the list:
1. PANIC ROOM, $18.5 million this weekend, $58.8 since opening.
