Here is the trailer for The Machine. This Sci-Fi Thriller has been making the festival arounds as of late. It features Arrow’s Caity Lotz, Toby Stephens from the upcoming Black Sails, and Wedge himself, Denis Lawson from the Star Wars Trilogy

Synopsis: Two computer programmers fall in love as they create the first ever piece of self-aware artificial intelligence, which is designed to help humanity. But things go wrong when the MoD steal their breakthrough and teach it to become a robotic weapon.

The Machine features Caity Lotz, Toby Stephens, Denis Lawson, and is directed by Caradog W. James.  

The Machine has only a release date of 2014.

Lemme guess. Machine motivation for killing humans = Man inferior, destructive, destroys planet and nature, therefore must be purged... yawn

I liked the look and tone of this teaser. It looks like it intends to be a spooky new version of Frankenstein. Caity Lotz appears totally different than the way she is in Arrow.

 You guys are a lot tougher on Sci Fi movies than you are on Comic Book movies.  Granted the premise is dumb (for what godforsaken reason would scientist labor so hard to make a machine that replicated the looks and functionality of a human being).  We've seen this all before.  Still there is a certain comfortability that comes along with this familiar tale.  I agree with monkeyfoot it appears to be a modern twist on the classic Frankenstein story.  I think it could be a fun diversion and I'm sure I'll check it out when it comes down the pike.
