VARIETY reports Fox has canceled Joss Whedon's SF series FIREFLY, citing low ratings. The series' cancellation was reported here Friday based on a posting from the show's executive producer on his Web site.
The final episode will be next week's airing of the show's two-hour pilot. Whedon is quoted in the VARIETY story from a posting to a fan site: "I think it has been mistreated shamefully. I proudly take my place beside PROFIT, THE BEN STILLER SHOW, THE TICK, and ACTION."
