Firestorm! Yes, Firestorm will join The CW’s Dc Universe as a character on upcoming Flash series. He will be played, partially, by Robbie Amell (Tomorrow People) and real life cousin of Arrow’s Stephen Amell. Robbie Amell will be playing the Ronnie Raymond half of Firestorm.

Variety had this to report:‘Flash’ executive producerGreg Berlanti said of Amell’s casting: ‘Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting. We can’t wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out’.”

So two questions: Who will play physicist Martin Stein? The other half of Firestorm. Finally, will this make him one of the first characters, outside of the Smallville continuity, to have the power of flight on TV?

HELL YEAH!!??....wait this could be awesome or this could be disasterious. Firestorm has been one of my favorite characters since I was a kid, so they better not screw this up.

OK, so I had resisted watching Arrow because of all the soap opera stuff I knew would be part of a CW show, but I really was curious how they would handle Deathstroke and, one of my favs, the Suicide Squad, so I gave in and watched both seasons these past 2 weeks.  Although I wanted to fast forward practically every time one of the female cast appeared on screen to inevitable talk about feelings, all in all I quite enjoyed the show, as well as the Flash pilot.  The addition of Firestorm I now find to be very exciting news and will surely be watching this fall.

I don't like the idea because its too soon. Like, give the Flash his first season, then bring in other heroes in upcoming seasons. Series hasn't started and he's already sharing the screen with someone else. Come on man.

I am sure he will only be a supporting character. I am excited about this!

The pilot was good. The show isn't starting from scratch. Flash has some history on Arrow. Expanding the universe is going to be great to watch.

Yeah, from what I'm reading, He is only on the show as Ronnie Raymond.  There has been no mention of his other half that makes up Firestorm.  I'm sure he will be a recurring role, especially since they are setting up Killer Frost as a villian, whom he will have ties with.  The actual Firestorm, may not show up at all this first season.  As far as i'm concerned,  The Arrowverse is shaping up to be the true DC universe, while the Movies are gonna be the big budget knock off.  I cannot wait for this Flash series to start.  Flash was always my favorite DC character.

Reek, I was wary when the Arrow show started but started watching from the beginning. It just keeps getting better and better for me. It has the overall CW feel of young perfect looking men and women crying and suffering about their loves and relationships but it offsets that with great action and just a sense of comic book fun. The characters take their problems seriously but its not gut wrenching pain and suffering.

I'm still wondering if they plan on linking these shows with the DC movies in some way.

@Monkeyfoot: yeah, that's more or less how I ended up feeling about Arrow.  As for the show's relationship to the DC movie universe, I seem to remeber reading here a few months back that it all hinges on The Flash.  If the show does well, the kid that plays him goes to the front of the line to play The Flash in Dawn of Justice which would innexorably link the two universes.  If not, they will re-cast the role and in so doing, sever the notion that the TV and film universes could be related.

When is this thing supposed to start airing again?

Woodye 7/10/2014 8:18:06 PM

ummmmm...September.  How's that for narrowing it down.  : D

I also read elsewhere that Ronnie Raymond will be married to the Killer Frost character, which I thought was some nice cross pollenating.

Now I don't know if it is true, but they were saying that they may cast someone for Amanda Waller in the Dawn of Justice movie and I was like......but!  but!  but!  But they alrewady have an Amanda Waller cast for the Arrow show (and technically speaking they already had a known actress playing Waller in the Green Lantern movie)!  Now ok...maybe they want to completely disavow the GL movie...but as reek was saying, it would be really cool if they used Amell and the guy playing Flash in the Justice movie. And if that is so...then they really need to have Amanda Waller be played by the lady currently playing her on Arrow.  I mean both versions so far have been pretty and skinny, unlike what the comics had to offer...but still.  I can live with that.
