Summit Entertainment has unleashed the first full trailer for Alex Proyas' Knowing, the studio's next high profile project after the success of Twilight. The supernatural thriller stars Nicolas Cage and Rose Byrne. Proyas penned the screenplay alongside co-writers Stuart Hazeldine, Ryne Douglas Pearson, Juliet Snowden, Stiles White and Richard Kelly.

You can check out the new trailer here.

Plot Summary: In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one of the students, a mysterious girl who seems to hear whispered voices, fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead.

Fast forward 50 years to the present: A new generation of students examines the contents of the time capsule and the girl's cryptic message ends up in the hands of young Caleb Myles. But it is Caleb's father, professor Ted Myles (Nicolas Cage), who makes the startling discovery that the encoded message predicts with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major disaster of the past 50 years. As Ted further unravels the document's secrets, he realizes it foretells three additional events—the last of which hints at destruction on a global scale and seems to somehow involve Ted and his son.

When Ted's attempts to alert the authorities fall on deaf ears, he takes it upon himself to try to prevent more destruction from taking place.

This gripping supernatural thriller charts one man's faltering steps towards belief in the ultimate order of the universe even as he finds himself surrounded by mounting chaos. With the reluctant help of Diana Whelan (Rose Byrne) and Abby, the daughter and granddaughter of the now-deceased author of the cryptic prophecies, Ted's increasingly desperate efforts take him on a heart-pounding race against time until he finds himself facing the ultimate disaster—and the ultimate sacrifice.

Knowing will hit theaters March 20, 2009.

I'm curious as too how that entire subway scene actually turns out since that looked like the only non-cheesy looking visual effect.... I, Robot was a dissapointment even though I still liked it for some parts but have been dissapointed with most adaptations of  Philip K. Dick's work. Anyways, I won't be intentionally going to watch this film unless my friends want too. I waited for I, Robot on DVD and will probably do the same with this until he does something that will live up to his work with Dark City.

Oh, Alex Proyas...I was thinking the guy who made Mirrors (which I haven't seen yet) and The Hills Have Eyes and High Tension and the upcoming Piranhas.  Damn, I had my hopes up for this.  That guy is Aja.  Damn, now my expectations for this movie is lowered.  I thought... This blows.

I don't know, it didn't  look to bad, having said that it could end up on the 5 top worst disaster movies list of all time put out by this site in the next coupld of years, we'll see...

I think Proyas makes great movies, and this looks pretty damn cool. That subway cash caught me off guard and I was like wow. I will check this out just based on the fact that it is Proyas.

Whisper people. The movie isn't even out yet and already the studio has taken away some of the mystery. BTW, didn't one of the whisper people look like spike from buffy and angle?

I might see this in theaters, but will probably rent it instead.  Looks interesting at least.

Stormbringer, "I, Robot" was an Isaac Asimov story, although I do agree that most adaptations of Dick's work are disappointing.

MrJawbreakingEquilibrium, save your money. Mirrors sucked big time.  Don't taint your memories of his work on High Tension and The Hills Have Eyes with that Kiefer Sutherland piece of crap.  Let's hope he returns to form with Pirahnas.

The subway scene looked cool, but, recently I feel that everything Cage touches turns to s***.  I need to see more quality out of this picture before I spend my money to see it.  And I have grave reservations about that once I saw the Whisper People.

Thanks for the correction IamChuck...I knew that but while writing I was thinking of the horrid adaptation of "Next" with Nicolas Cage and mixed it up with "I, Robot" for some reason.
