 Gauleyboy, I've been a GR fan since the 70's. The movie was a turd. I take that back...once Cage and Mendes appeared the movie became a turd. The younger actors were academy award nominees compared to Cage and Mendes. Not to mention Cage is 30 years too old to play Blaze.

While I like Nelvedine and Taylor as directors, my dislike for Nic Cage's dumbass Elvis impersonation as GR makes this movie an almost guaranteed negative experience.  I'll catch this one on DVD if I don't get a free screening pass. It's a shame, because GR is one of my favorite Marvel characters (as was Daredevil) and I can't watch these movies without cringing at how bad the main character actor plays the character.

@daforce1

1 on that statement.

The 1st Ghost Rider was a prime example of a studio treating a property like garbage. The only thing I liked about GR was GR himself. I liked his look and was pretty badass. Everything else sucked.

Not sure if you know but Sony rushed to make this movie before the rights reverted back to Marvel. The rights were supposed to go back November 2010. Sony had considered a reboot but was running out of time and just said "oh crap, we better shoot something, anything before we lose this."

Then it was bye bye GR rights.

Well at least Marvel has Punisher and Blade back. C'mon DD and FF! Come back to Marvel!

Why does the bike have a headlight? That seems silly to me.

Wait, The Punisher and Blade rights, have reverted back to Marvel?? If so that is awesome. While Blade doesn't need a reboot, The Punisher certainly does. I don't see why DD hasn't reverted back. Fox hasn't done anything with the property since Elektra and nothing seems to be in the pipeline that I know of.

That is correct ponyboy. Joe Q recently announced at San Diego Comic Con.

Just google Blade and Punisher movie rights back to Marvel and you will get a lot of hits.

The first GR was probably the worst superhero movie of this decade. And that's saying something Nic Cage was awful, the effects were terrible, and the overall quality was leagues below anything else in recent memory. I really really really didn't like it, and I love GR so that's saying something. I was a little dismayed to hear Cage was returning for a sequal instead of rebooting with a new actor (like GR deserves). I have absolutely no hope that this movie will be any good.

 Dialogue missing from picture 3 :   Nicholas Cage:  "Uh no, I'll skip a percentage of the gross this time, just give me my paycheck"

Guess what, Darkknight2280, now you've heard of 2 people say the first Ghost Rider movie was good. By 3rd-tier character standards it was a very good movie...right up there with Spawn and Blade. Ghost Rider is NOT a household name by far, yet the first movie stayed even more true to the comics than ANY of the X-men movies.

It's a shame that the plot seems kinda blah this time around though. I would really like to see a crossover with Ghost Rider, Blade and say... Dr. Strange. I could easily see them facing off against Mephisto and Dormamuu. Still, it's good to see these 3rd-tier characters on the big screen...even if all of you expect every movie to be like Thor, Dark Knight and now Captain America.

The bike looks worse because it is a metric.  Would GR really need a radiator?  :)

Actually I ride a Wide Glide, but I'm not a bike snob, looking down at other brands.  I used to ride a Virago back in the day, but it was air cooled too.
