This movie will stink. The first one was great, but only with the real ending. Not the stupid American ending where she gets out. I'm just going to pretend this movie isn't being made.

Wait a minute. I got the stupid American version and she doesnt get out spiderhero. Thats why I am confused. I actually enjoyed the movie though.

Another note is that the creature looks like a vampire to me. Not saying it is, just that it looks like it.

Wolfman, did you see The Descent in the theater or on DVD? Some of the DVD versions were issued with the altered ending, some with the original ending. I thought either ending was OK, neither one was exactly a happy ending. And yes, the critters are very vampiric (sort of an animalistic version of Nosferatu) - I suppose one could argue that these are the basis for vampire lore in Descent's "universe".

This is one sequel I really didn't want to see get the green light. The first movie would be perfectly fine (with either ending). I really wish they'd leave well-enough alone instead of having to turn every horror movie that makes more than $50M into a franchise.

wolfmanX, don't read if you don't want to know the real ending ***spoiler*** if you want to know the real ending. That last part when she gets out is a dream. She wakes up to find out she's still in the cave all by herself.

This is obviously a money grab. Just like it happens everytime you get a sleeper hit. Jason, Michael Meyers, Freddy, none of those were meant to be franchises, but make enough money and this is what you get. I'm looking forward to it. I loved the first.
The creatures or mutants have traits of bats because like bats they use sound and smell mostly to guide them.

Yeah Wiseguy, thats the ending I saw. Thats why I thought she was dead. Snallygaster I saw it on DVD. I think you are right with the different endings being in the DVD. I am going to check it out when I get home.

Yeah both endings were on the Unrated dvd edition. I loved the first film, but think they really don't need to make a sequel to it. I would rather see a prequel where it showed the history of the cave and maybe how those creatures got there.

I saw the ending where it was a dream that she got out....I actually thought that it was a very good movie,,,right from the beginning with the car accident I was sucked in, it really set the tone.....I am willing to see what the trailer looks like before I make a judgement, it could turn out to be a pleasent surprise....PS, Doomsday (which Marshall also directed) was an awesome movie...He could be one of the next big action directors up there with Peter Berg, Len Wisemen and Louis Lettier.

"In a bid to locate the rest of her group"????

What, their corpses? If I had lost my 10 best friends and a million bucks I still wouldn't be going back in there.

Can't help but think it looks like a demonic uncle of the little creatures in Galaxy Quest.
