Satoshi Kon is hard at work on his fifth film called Yume Miru Kikai, which will be translated as The Dream Machine when it hits English language territories. Working with Madhouse on the project for the animation, Dream Machine is intended to be aimed at slightly younger audiences than some of his past films which will be a definite change of pace for him after doing such distinct films as Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress and Paprika. The site for The Dream Machine has opened recently with a number of production stills of backgrounds, character design artwork and fully fleshed out scenes, some of which we've provided below. Check the link above for the full array of images and more about this little known film with no firm theatrical release date yet in Japan that will likely be distributed by Sony Pictures in the US:

Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress and Paprika were great movies (not your every day disney), so I have come to expect good things in every release. The artwork and background are looking fantastic and the female character is very interesting. Remainds me of Ciber Marionettes. Can't waite for the movie...
