Warner Premiere have provided mania with a first look at the trailer from the upcoming DC Universe animated feature film 'Green Lantern: First Flight'.

In other GL news, Warner Premiere has announced that the release date for the film is now set at July 21st.

The film is to be rated PG-13 and will arrive as a 2-disc special edition DVD, a Blu-Ray hi-def edition and a single disc DVD edition.

Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) leads the cast as the voice of Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern. The cast includes Emmy Award nominee Victor Garber (Milk, Titanic), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) and Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs). Produced by animation legend Bruce Timm, Green Lantern: First Flight is directed by Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Superman Doomsday) and scripted by four-time Emmy Award-winning writer Alan Burnett (The Batman).

Green Lantern: First Flight finds Hal Jordan recruited to join the Green Lantern Corps and placed under the supervision of respected senior Lantern Sinestro. The earthling soon discovers his mentor is actually the central figure in a secret conspiracy that threatens the philosophies, traditions and hierarchy of the entire Green Lantern Corps. Hal must quickly hone his newfound powers and combat the treasonous Lanterns within the ranks to maintain order in the universe.

Looks alright. Looking forward to it cause I love the character and DC usually does a good job with their animated flicks. Marvel needs to emulate DC in the animated department.

WB/DC animation makes great movies.  As another poster recently stated, and I forgot who it was.. sorry, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is still one of , if not thee,  best of the Batman movies.  Haven't seen WW but I'll be sure to catch GL.  Really wish they'd cast live-action Hal Jordan.

Flint, if your a fan of animation or DC characters in general, you should check out Wonder Woman. Although I thought the second half of the movie got a little muddled in the script department, it was really top notch overall. Hopefully Green Lantern will come close to that kind of quality. The trailer looks fantastic IMHO.
