I'm more excited to see what new theatrical gimmick PJ and the gang comes up to tag on to The Hobbit 2. HFR is so yesterday.

yeahhh...ummm...about the 48FPS thing. I liked the movie and all...but it looked TOO fake...like it was made for nickelodian or something. I think the Effects were TOO good...if theres such a thing. Everything was just too well lit and too sharp and crisp. Maybe its just me...otherwise i enjoyed the movie. Only gripe was Thorin Oakenshields *i will stare everyone to death* was way over used.

I watched the hobbit twice since it's release, will not be seeing it again in a theater for it is far to long to have to sit in seats not all so comfortable, but will see it many time more when it finally hits blue ray...Great movie and I'm for sure looking forward to the second movie...

Saw it last night and loved it. I thought the 48 FPS was amazing, it was like looking at HD for the first time everything was so clear and sharp. Definately the best looking 3D by a large margin, if they haven't upgraded one of the theaters in my home town by next December I will be making the 2.5 hour trip to see part 2 in Calgary.

The Hobbit always was going to be turned into 2 movies.  The third movie is just a bridge between this and the Lord of the Rings.

I don't believe that's correct, Z4R.  They (PJ and crew) decided to divide the movie into three parts, but the extra stuff will be interspersed between all three films.  Don't expect Smaug to be slain (sorry, spoiler alert!) in the 2nd film, and for the third to simply be a bridge.  I imagine that Smaug's death and the Battle of 5 armies will be in the third film.  That still leaves quite a bit (Beorn, the Elves, Bilbo interacting with Smaug, etc.) to happen in the second.

I thought Sherlock was the Necromancer not Smaug
