I think these all black X-Men type suits SUCK. I understans why X-Men went did it. All that yellow spandex on the big screen would be hard to look at. But there was nothing obnoxious about any of the uniforms/outfits these specific characters wore either in the comic or in action-figure form. Have you seen the pic of Destro that's out there? CRAP.
As much as I love GI JOE, and believe me, I love GI JOE. I am not excited about this film at all.

Mr. Eko is alive son! You thought the smoke monster got him but lives and fights for our country. Damn right Mr. Eko!
The suits do suck, just give them their uniforms.
Where is the Destro pic?

They just couldn't keep the outfits somewhat close to the comics or the cartoon. I was disappointed when I saw Storm Shadows outfit. I wonder what the costume for Cobra Commander is going to end up being like.

I kinda like all the black uniforms. No, they're not by any means perfect, but they are grounded in some semblance of reality. The outfits the characters wore in the comic book and cartoon worked for those venues, but I don't think they would've translated any better to film than the X-Men's costumes. I just have to wonder why Adawale is Heavy Duty instead of Roadblock. Roadblock was one of the original Joes and (I would think) more well-known among the fans.

And where is the pic of Destro???? That for me is a make-or-break for the film.

So the outfits are not what they are suppose to be...We can all agree that they should have went with something else but that does not mean this movie is going to suck based on that alone...I actually would not mind those suits if they were of the true colors, of course this is a modern telling of an 80's cartoon/look...Hmmm, something to think about there...

I haven't seen the Destro pic but I do have one of Storm Shadow and the Baroness that hurts me to look at. The costume designs suck all around. Here is a description of the Storm Shadow outfit as I have seen it: NO MASK, a white TRENCH COAT, white pants, white gloves and white TENNIS SHOES! *ULP* I just threw up a little in my mouth.

They totally could've gone the X-2 route or X-3. Yeah I know the movie wasn't as good as the first 2, but the costume design was good. It incorporated the traditional colors but they were muted . Thats how these costumes could've been Muted more militarized versions of the ones we know and love.

Don't try to say the old The costumes wouldn't translate into a real life movie. Spiderman, Daredevil, X-3, are just a few that showed us if they take the time and find a costume designer with talent (not just talent for copying other movies costumes) these classic and iconic looks CAN be successfully translated to the big screen.

Whats the point of having G.I. Joe without the flare? It's just another Para-Military movie.
