Warner Bros. Pictures and Entertainment Weekly have provided a first look image of Sam Worthington on the set of Wrath of the Titans, the follow-up adventure to the 2010 remake Clash of the Titans. Check it out below along with the new plot concept. Sam will be joined by his co-stars Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, Edgar Ramirez, Bill Nighy, Toby Kebbell and Rosamund Pike. The 3D fantasy is behind led by director Jonathan Liebesman, based on a screenplay by Dan Mazeau, David Leslie Johnson and Steven Knight.

Plot Concept: A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth.

Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Wrath of the Titans arrives in 3D/2D theaters on March 30, 2012.

I enjoyed the first one (didn't see it in 3D).  I thought it was fun.  I like the storyline for this one too.  Sounds like good, over the top fun.

I'm with you on that lusiphur.  But what's up with the mullet

lusiphur 12/5/2011 8:00:02 AM

Trying to look more like Harry Hamlin?

Least his head isn't shaved again like very other dam movie he's in.

I never understood why the remake took so much hate.  Anytime you re-make matinee trash, like the original film...fun trash, but trash...one cannot expect "Citizen Kane". It WAS fun trash though. It seems the lovely Gemma Arterton isn't in this one though. Shame.

Oh, and mullets will be back...just you wait!

Whiskeymovie 12/5/2011 10:37:52 AM

Citizen Kane sucked.....and only Spanish guys have mullets these days,,,actually, they have Mull-Hawks....classy.....I thought the first one was enjoybale,,,,,will see what they deliver for the sequel

I wasn't a fan of the last COTT film.  At this point, I remember a lot of CGI scenes that were better served in a more quiet tone in the oringinal.

I believe he saved the Princess.  Guess she didn't sign on for the sequel.  A quiet life fisherman's life with his son after saving the world.  Why does this sound so familair?

Oh well, looks like March is chocked full of films that will make for a slow night on Netflix.

I think the hate came because of the poor quality 3D that just wasn't needed.  Story wise I think it just moved too fast for people familiar with the original.  Personally, I always tend to stay on the channel when I flick through and see it's on.

His arms look scrawny and his face looks beefy.  Which is really not something worth mentioning, but it is the internet, so I will mention it anyway!

InnerSanctum 12/5/2011 3:32:02 PM

doublerdiner:  No, I think that is fair.  He looks a bit like Russell Crowe after a bender with the mini bar.
