He's packed on the muscle, but he STILL has those weird skinny forearms, it's amazing those claws can find space to retract back into!

Did'nt see Xmen: Orgins, or 1st class in the Theater, and I'm not gonna go see this one either.

Have you guys ever actually READ any Wolverine comics? Wolvie is now a tragic soul, but he was not always like that! Obviously, some things have to happen for our tragic hero to turn into Grumpy/Berserker Smurf. This is true with any tragic character. Why would he not be smiling in the first movie when he falls in love and lives in such a beautiful log cabin surrounded by the Canadian wilderness?

You guys (and I'm not talking about everyone here obviously) need to go pick up some old Wolvie comics (*cough* Chris Claremont is a good writer to start with) and actually read them. While you're at it, go to a library or bookstore (hell, download some books from Amazon for all I care) and read about some of the great tragic heroes of yester-year.

As for this shot, he certainly looks to be showing the more ferocious look that we've come to love from Wolverine. Hugh Jackman is an incredible actor, and I'm looking forward to this part of Wolverine's history. Now then... Where's Tyger Tiger???

See the problem is Gothic, kids these days only know him from the movies and maybe the odd trade paperback they picked up.  I am 37 and been reading/collecting comics since I was 10 years old.  And like Gothic, I am not talking about everyone on this site...i know there are many other respectable comic geeks like me on here :)

As a respectable (that is questionable) comic geek from back in the day...Wolvie was originally a, um, "grumpy smurf".  Millar was the one that did him justice.  Graphic, violent and unforgiving.  That is Wolverine.  Never a happy mammal.

InnerSanctum 9/25/2012 10:17:04 PM

And, I can't believe I'm saying this, but give Wolvie a freakin reboot.  I'd really like to see him done justice.  Hugh, has been, and always will be the pretty boy.  So clean cut and well groomed.  Tall dark and handsome.  Give me the short, pissed and furry guy I grew up with in the comics.

@InnerSactum...Agreed with everything you just said...

I can go with that Innersanctum. I'm tired of these half assed movies about characters I grew up reading. Hugh Jackman is a good actor, but Wolverine he is not. Every movie with the exception of 1st class has played him totally wrong. Way to much conversation and far too little ass kicking. They've yet to show all those years of combat training, the fact that he 's master smauria and ninja trained as well as a admantine clawed berserker. The really need to get this right. as well if nothing else cgi shorten jackman like they did John Rhys Davies for the Lord of the Rings.

Ya, give us the rated R version of Wolverine, like he deserves and should be...

They have Pussified Wolverine.......period.  You can't take some iconic imagery from the comics, place Jackman with a cigar in his mouth and consider your job done. This is why I don't think they get it, and why I don't hold my hopes for this movie. Wolverine would have killed Sabertooth. They make an origin movie and spend 10 mins on his origin story and the rest on garbage. They never dive into his life as a kid and growing up to show us why he is why he is. Just how he was made. Wolverine isn't just claws, it's how he  uses them and his fighting style, I have to agree with the previous poster. If having him plunge his claws into a soldier and breath hard with spit coming out of his mouth is the extent of his rage, than houston we have a problem. Wolverine is a tortured soul trying to balance his animal side with his human side, and most times his animal side wins out, as it should, because that's how he survives his world. Do we truly think the will capture all this in this movie. I don't, but there's always hope.
