The film stars Ray Stevenson, Dominic West, Doug Hutchinson, Colin Salmon, Wayne Knight, Dash Mihok and Julie Benz. Director Lexi Alexander is adapting the film, based on a screenplay by herself, Matt Holloway, Art Marcum, Nick Santora and Kurt Sutter. Lionsgate plans to unleash the sequel September of 2008.

Plot Summary: Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.

PUNISHER: WAR ZONE will hit theaters September 12, 2008.

Not bad. But almost looks like Steven Segal in that pic. I really need to see some action on this to make a judgment, though...

You're not alone, fft. That's Steven Segal, not Ray Stevenson. I need to see more. I would like the skull to be a little more visible, but that could just be a lighting thing.

I thought Thomas Jane was fine in the role. Unfortunately, the movie was not.

It should probably be noted that I love the Dolph's Punisher movie.

that really DOES look like Steven Segal!!!
I also love Dolph's Punisher.. its so goofy its great. Thomas Jane was NOT the problem with the Punisher, he's a fine actor... it was John Travolta that wasthe problem. i HATE John Travolta by the way. the only movie I ever liked him in was Pulp Fiction... PERIOD.

I'm also getting that Steven Segal vibe; I'm afraid that there might be some greasy pony tail behing Steven's head. Love the hardware, nice touch with the silencer, don't know why the Skull is so faded. You can barely tell there is a skull there to begin with. Dolph Lungren's Punisher movie is one of those guilty pleasures from the back in the day, especially with all those Ninja bad guys and Lungren's soliloquys.

Since when did Frank Castle have a potbelly?

He does resemble Segal (who I despise) a little bit. But it looks like Lexi is going for the Max Punisher look they give him in their covers. I'm really looking forward to this. I loved Jane, but I don't think he was so good that he can't be replaced and improved on. I hope this fares well at the box office because I want to see the Punisher go up against Barracuda next.

My first thought was this was on old promo shot for Executive Decision, so I'm throwing in a Segal vote as well. I swear, if his hair is in a ponytail..... Am I the only one who thought Thomas Jane did a decent enough job in the first one?

Dolph's was first.
But yes, I agree. Thomas Jane was an excelent Punisher.

No way that's a real screenshot from the new Punisher film...someone must have taken one from a Segal film and superimposed the skull on the shirt...Seriously...I hope this movie doesn't suck...I liked Thomas Jane in the role...and I even liked the last movie...with the exception of any of Travolta's scenes (except when he was being dragged behind that car and then got blown up)...however I have low (Starship Troopers 2 like) expectations for this film...I hope am surprised though.

ALL HAIL THE GREASY PONY-TAIL!
